December 31 2019. 4:24PM.
St. Mary's Hospital, Euyork city.

The tension in the room was getting stronger as the screams of a nineteen year old boy echoed through the four corners of the room. His grip on the metal bars on either side of him tightened, his veins started to appear from under his skin, some popping out because of the force. The needle which is injected on his vein and the foreign fluid running on his blood stream being the reason for all this.

"Just stay put Andrew, this will end in a few." The female's words was strong and clear for the boy to hear but because of the unbearable pain, he wasn't able to hear.

As he moved around, the tubes has spilled a lot of the drug. Dr. Rodriguez who's devastated at the whole situation screamed at her son to stop as if he was going to listen. And as the last remaining drop of the drug entered his blood stream, his body went stiff as if he was paralyzed. The female doctor's eyes widened in disbelief as she hurriedly checked the tanks that produced the drug.

"No no no no NO! This can't be!" She screamed as she started hitting and kicking the now empty metal containers.

"Doctor, it was the last drop. We knew this was go-"

"Yes! I knew this was going to happen! And it could have turned out well if Andrew didn't spill it!" She yelled out to her nurse, causing him to step back.

She looked at her son who is now peacefully laying on the hospital bed. She knew she didn't have to snap at him but she was getting stressed out because it took her years to find the said drug. She harshly sighed and dropped on a nearby chair, she was starting to go weak even if she wasn't that old yet. After hundreds of sleepless nights just to find the right formula for her newly found drug, it resulted to a bad health habit. At first she didn't mind but after her success, those nights started taking a toll on her. Her son noticed this and asked her to rest but she insisted to keep on working until she could finish her product.

"Doctor, what do we do with him?" Her assistant nurse said, refering to her son.

"Just let him rest, his body didn't take the right amount of drug. He's exhausted," she said while standing up and fixing her things "we should rest too. I'll give you the whole week. You are now dismissed."

"Thank you so much, doctor." And with that, he left.

Dr. Rodriquez sighed once again for the nth time. Today wasn't the bestest day and shr knows that they did a lot of things for months. She didn't have time to rest nor spend some time with her son. She knows that this is the only way to let him grow up in a wealthy life, and she wants the best for Andrew. He is her only child and the only remembrance his father left for her after going abroad with his mistress.

As she watched her son whose eyes are comfortably closed, a tear escapes her tired eyes.

"Did I mess up again? I hope you won't leave me like your father did."
