It was dark and cold in the tiny black street where Klaus was spending his first night out of this hell called home. Diego already left, so will Allison. It was just a matter of time. Nobody wants to say there. Since Ben died there's nothing connecting any of them there. Who knew how long Luther will stand it? For a long time probably. Probably forever. He was number one and always will be.
Klaus took the medication box in his pocket and swallowed a drug pill. From the other side of the alley, Ben gave him a bad look.
- What ?
- You know you shouldn't do that Klaus. We talked about it.
Klaus stared at him, defying. Ben was trying to take care of him but truth was he didn't know what he was talking about.
- Get off my back, Ben ! You're not Mum
- Well she wouldn't like that either
- She's not here.
Klaus swallowed a second one just to be sure of the effect and then he put it back in his pocket. There wasn't a lot left. He had to go see his dealer soon to refill.
He looked back at Ben :
- You don't understand.
- What are you talking about?
Klaus and pulled his fur coat closer to him as the cold wind started to blow harder in the dark wet street.
- Don't you dare think I do that just for amusement Ben. Don't be like the others.
It's like nobody was able to get him. Not even Diego. And Luther and Allison probably didn't even notice he was gone. There was no normal fucking person in this crazy family.
- I know.
Ben sat next to him. Klaus could see the rain falling through him.
- It's the only way I have to keep the ghosts away from me, you know?
Ben nodded and kept silent.
Klaus sighed. He tried not to think about the dead corpse and the bloody cadavers of his nightmares. He tried to push away the memories of the cellar when he was young. He took a deep breath as the drug filled his veins. This was the only thing that could save him.
His only comfort.
- I'm just scared it kills you, whispered Ben
- So what if I die ? At least we'll still be able to hang out...
