After what seemed like days but was only a few hours; Mark had managed to scan through my blueprints. He had deactivated me; with my permission; and worked out the different situations. My voice box got replaced, followed by the cover plates. My wiring got repaired, and soon I was awakened by Jack by a simple tap on my shoulder after Mark reflipped the switch.
"All done?" I asked, smiling immediately at my voice. Mark nodded, motioning towards a pile of rusted and broken pieces on the floor. "Where are we gonna put this?" He asked Jack, to which he just shrugged.
"I dunno but I'm gonna bring Mat to Felix," he said, already grabbing my arm and tugging me off of the workbench carefully.
"I guess I'll figure out where to put this myself, then." He huffed with a small smile on his face regardless.
Jack laughed, leading me out off of the stage and back into the hallway, going a different route. I kept silent most of the time; focusing on my surroundings to remember where everything was.
Soon we were in a room lit with blue, a stage with dark blue curtains to match. I raised my eyebrow. "Felix?" I asked, tilting my head as I looked around.
The room was a bit bigger than Mark's, more tables set with party hats and a polka dot tablecloth. I eyed it curiously before Jack pulled me towards the stage.
"Felix!" He called, peeking behind the curtain. A figure behind me laughed, grabbing my shoulders as I jumped back with a yelp. "Don't do that!" I yelled, and Jack laughed along with Felix.
"What's going on, bros?" He chuckled, winking at me before he turned to Jack. "Who's this?"
"This is MatPat. He was dropped off here earlier, and man do we have a story for you. Follow us back to Mark's room!" He cheered, grabbing my arm again and tugging me back to the hallway.
Felix laughed again, shaking his head at Jack's actions as he walked with us.
Mark was pushing the box into a shadowed corner of the backstage, and I assumed he had put the parts in the box just in case. Felix brought his finger to his lips, silencing us as he quietly and easily walked up behind Mark, making a loud noise as he grabbed Mark's shoulders.
Mark screamed, jumping forward and nearly toppling into the box as the three of us laughed. He glared at Felix, flipping him off to which I gasped. "Mark, you're supposed to be a child-friendly animatronic!" I said with my hands on my hips, teasing him with another laugh.
He just shook his head, leaning against the wall with a huff. "You're mean." He said to Felix, giving me a pointed look.
"So what's up? Why'd you need me here?" Felix asked, brushing off Mark's silly comment. "Need my smarts to solve something?"
Jack made a so-so motion, going serious as he started explaining everything to Felix.
"Weird," he said when Jack finished, and I nodded my head in agreement. "Doesn't make sense, even to me. Why bother to get parts for an animatronic you're not even gonna use?"
Mark made a metallic humming noise, instinctively holding his chin with his hand as he thought about it. "No, I suppose it doesn't make any sense." He murmured, his eyebrows furrowing.
Felix looked up a second, moving over to the box and grabbing a mess of wires, sitting down as best he could as he untangled them, setting a few colors to the side. "So it's like this," he explained, grabbing a red wire as he set it down. Pointing to one end, "This is us now." To the other end, he said, "This is the situation." He picked up a gold wire, lining it up with the second point. "This is Mat, and how he ties into the situation." He draped a black wire over the gold. "This is his parts box, which came a month before he did." He positioned it so that one end hit where the 'us now' area was. I nodded my head, understanding while Mark and Jack looked confused. He continued on a bit, tracking off as he started thinking of different theories and stuff, adding more and more wires until there were none left, and they were all tangled in a large mess again.
"So we're stuck in a mess of tangled strings then," Mark summed up.
Felix nodded. "Pretty much, yeah."
