I waited for the room to go silent before opening my eyes. Attitude and Alex's harsh demeanor wasn't something I could put up with right now. After keeping still for 5 minutes, I heard the door close. They were gone, thank god.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes, then slightly started to open them.

I almost jumped back as I saw the figure sitting on a chair opposite me. Anger slowly crept in but I was far too tired to reflect that. Instead I just sighed and looked at him, void of any emotion and speaking in a soft yet firm tone.

"I'm tired of getting bitten."

He looked back at me.

He replied, monotone, as he always is if not anger soaked.
"I don't care."

I was slowing getting used to his asshole tendencies.
I stared back at him.

"Can you for one second have a conversation without being uh...so much of yourself? or is that asking the impossible.

He sighed

Wow, a reaction, this is uncharted territory.
I kept my eyes on his, noticing the parts so far hidden, it could pass as camouflage. Tiredness, that's what I saw. And not the kind that could be fixed. The kind that burdens you and pulls at you until there's nothing left to take anymore.

His words interrupted my thought process.

"Tomorrow morning, get up by 6am. "

I looked at him with piercing eyes, but didn't bother to question. I could feel myself getting tired again. So I just laid back down and drifted off to sleep.

Birds chirping, the bright yellow sunshine illuminating through the almost transparent, white tainted curtains.

Chirping birds.

What?

I jolted awake, my body sitting upwards.

Curtains. On either side. Sunshine, birds. I'd been moved.

I got out of bed and walked to the window, looking down. It was nothing less of breathtaking.
The maple trees enveloped the never ending green grass bed as the sunshine blissfully graced parts of grass left uncovered by the tree leaves.

And I seemed to be at least 10 feet above it.

Great.

There goes the already slim chances of escaping I had.

"Don't think about it. Unless you have a stupid urge to die." he spat.

I turned my head around to get a glimpse of my favorite person, standing at the edge of the door seemingly that had just been quietly opened. A side smirk forming on my lips.
Before I could make my way onto the ledge of the window, those oh so  familiar arms engulfed me and aggressively tossed me onto the bed.

"There's something called stairs you stupid human. Use it. "
"And make it quick. Since you don't understand the concept of being on time. You have 5 minutes."

And just like that, with a whisper of wind, he was gone.

Ugh. I grunted. I was tired of being something he talks down to, almost like an untrained pet he couldn't care less for. I had to find a way out of her, or he might as well kill me if i don't already die of frustration just being around him.

I got off the bed and walked back towards the open window and contemplated my chances, I had a winning shot, maybe if there was a pile of bushes close enough.

"I gave you five minutes, you took 20." he glared at me with venomous eyes.

I shrugged.
"You told me I had five minutes, you didn't tell me until what, or where I had to be or anything useful."

I blinked and in seconds..

His eyes interlocked with mine in a dangerous authoritative glare. He stayed still for so long I thought we were just going to stay like this. Part of me didn't want it to end either.

Until he destroyed the silence with his words.

"Listen to me, I don't have time for questions or any of your  idiocy today. Pay attention to everything. "

He turned around and threw me a sword.
I fumbled to catch it and miserably failed, watching it hit the grass.

"What the hell"
"What is that for?"

"The almighty prince here is about to teach your little pretty self how to spar and kill bad guys" Only Vincent's voice could sound so friendly, I was almost convinced I was back home in the company of an old friend.

He  rested his elbow on my shoulder and I turned to look at him.  He smiled and winked at me as he took a bite of his orange.

"Is that a thing for vampires? Appearing out of no where in complete silence?"

He shrugged.

"Nah, just us."
"Adds mystery ya'know?"

"Enough wasting time, pick up your sword."

I turned back to face him.

"I don't know how to spar"

"You'll learn if you want to live"

I picked up my sword. Maybe this might be good for me. I can use it to get my way out of here one way or another. All I knew is, I was not going to get another bite mark on my neck again.
