Chapter 4 --Decisions Have To Be Made--

"Are we all here?", Michelle asks as she looks around studio A. "Yes I'm here!", we hear Kenzie scream as she enters the studio. "Okay great", Michelle says. "So, we have written down all the duets we need to see today so we're just going to call out your names and you can perform your duet." "But afterwards, we want you to write down your top 3 duets, without writing down your own name", Emily adds. We all nod our heads as Emily hands each of us a little piece of paper and a pen before we sit down in front of the mirrors. "Noah and Richelle, take it away", Michelle says and Noah and Richelle both stand up and start performing their duet. Don't get me wrong, their duet was good but they don't have any emotional connection. "Thank you", Michelle says and they both sit down again.

A few other duets get performed before Emily says: "Piper and Blakely, you're up." We look at each other and put our point shoes on. "Ah, no way! She can dance on point too?!", I hear someone say. I just let out a little giggle and I'm ready to kill our duet. "Aren't you going to take off your sweatshirt?", I can hear Emily ask. "Uhm no, I get cold pretty easily", I answer. She just nods her head understandingly and starts our music. We start dancing and our duet looks amazing! "That was incredible!", Michelle says once we finish before we sit back down. We give each other a high five before Davis and Jacquie start performing their duet. It's really good. They kind of have the same vibe and they are very similar in their way of moving.

Once they're finished and sat back down, it's Piper and Finn's turn. Their duet is really fun. It's high energy and kind of groovy. "Good work guys. That was really fun to watch. Thank you", Emily says before they both sit down again. "Blakely and Davis, you can go next", Michelle says and Davis grabs my hand. She smiles at me before we both stand up and take our beginning pose holding hands. We start dancing and our duet goes smoothly. We finished the choreography this morning and it truly turned out amazing. We finish our duet by Davis falling to the ground and I running over to her, kneeling down beside her before laying myself down next to her, one arm around her. We hear everyone clapping and we stand back up. My eyes are filled with tears but before anyone can see them, Davis gives me a big hug. "You were amazing!", she tells me. "Thank you. You were amazing too. I wouldn't have wanted to do it with anyone else than you", I say back to her as we pull away from our hug. "That was truly amazing! It was moving and the story was so emotional. You guys are a golden duo", Emily says and I can see that her eyes are filled with tears due to our emotional performance. We both thank her and sit back down. I take a sip of water before I hear Michelle say: "Blakely and Noah, you are the last duet." I take a deep breath and stand back up. "Are you good to go or do you need some more time to breathe?", Emily asks me sweetly. "No I'm good", is all I say before Noah and I walk to the middle of the floor. I jump on his back and we're ready to start dancing. Our storyline is that we have been friends all through our childhood, and when we're a little bit more grown-up, we realize that we are actually in love with each other. We get through our dance, hitting every lift. It feels so amazing to dance with him. It's like we've been dancing together for ages. Once our music dies down, we finish our duet with Noah touching my arm and placing his other hand on my cheek. Our eyes meet and it truly feels like magic.

All of a sudden, we hear loud clapping and we see everyone standing up. "That was out of this world!", Michelle says. "I don't even have words to describe it. That was exceptional! You guys are a match made in heaven!", Emily tells us and our smiles only grow bigger. We walk back to the other dancers and I immediately see Jacquie coming up to Noah with an angry look. "Why did you even do that? I'm your girlfriend! You're not supposed to act all in love with someone you just met", she says angerly, "I bet it was Blakely's idea." "No, it wasn't Jacquie. It was my idea!", Noah almost screams back at Jacquie. "Why would you even want to dance with someone else other than me?" "Because I'm sick and tired of the way you think I'm your possession. Blakely dances with me. All you do is dance against me and try to control me. Well, I've had enough Jacquie!" "What are you saying? Are you breaking up with me?", Jacquie asks a lot calmer this time. "Maybe it's for the best", Noah says back to her and tears build up in her eyes. "Yeah, maybe it is", she responds calmly before turning around to face Emily and Michelle. Wow, that was harsh, and I kind of feel like it's my fault that they broke up.
