"I don't think this is a good idea." Elijah rolled his eyes, grabbing the neck of Daniel's hoodie, "either you tell her, or I will." Elijah said sternly, glaring at Daniel who just cowered away behind Milo.
"Stop bitching and just ask her," I said, playing with my ring while eyeing the female in the center of the room.
"I can't do it!" Daniel panicked, fanning himself with his hand while he took off his cap. Milo sighed, this was a normal routine of ours. Daniel's crush is slowly becoming a burden for all of us.
I shook my head before standing up, I walked over to the table where Julia sat and waited for her to notice me. I could feel Daniels' panicked state behind my back. Julia finally turned around after what felt like an eternity, "Hey, you're Kyle right? What's up?"
"Yeah that's not me, it's actually Kai. Either way, me and my friends were wondering if you'd wanna hang out with us tomorrow?" I casually asked, pointing at the table behind me. Julia stretched her neck to glance behind my shoulder.
"I'm so sorry, and yeah sure, I'd love to hang out," She smiled sweetly, I nodded awkwardly before bidding her goodbye and walking back to my table.
At this point I was cringing so bad, "fuck, never let me do that again." I mumbled sitting down.
"What did she say?!" Danny excitedly asked, "She wants to hang out with us tomorrow." I shortly answered, making him grin like a little child on Christmas morning.
"Why the fuck did she agree when she didn't even know your name?" Elijah questioned, I shrugged it off, not really caring.
"I'm going out for a smoke" I grumbled, checking if I had any cigarettes left in my pocket.
"You sure? We start in less than fifteen minutes," Milo said, I shrugged causally. "I'll be quick."
Once I was outside I grabbed my cigarette and lighter, inhaling the toxicity into my lungs. Feeling my mind calm down as I sat myself behind the school.
"Hey Kai, you got a lighter?" I recognized Dylan's voice, grabbing the lighter from my pocket. I tossed it to him, which he easily caught. After lighting his own cigarette he gave it back to me, sitting down next to me.
"Ahh this is the highlight of my day" he sighed, making me snort. "What, fucking up your lungs?" I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Well yeah, they're already damaged. I don't care at this point." Dylan remarked, puffing out smoke from his lips.
I wouldn't call Dylan a 'friend'. A term more fitting for whatever we have is; 'smoke buddies'. We occasionally sat together behind the school, smoking for some minutes before casually going back to our lives, which meant not knowing each other outside or inside of school.
"So how's it going with your friend's crush? Is he getting anywhere?" Dylan asked, we sometimes liked to talk about our life's however, that did not happen often.
"I'd say that he got the courage to not faint as I spoke to her for him," I chuckled, Dylan barked out a laugh as he started coughing right after.
"God, I think that your friend and I would get along well. Is it that football player?" Dylan asked, I nodded my head. "Yeah Danny." Dylan hummed.
"When'd you start smoking?" I randomly asked him before the silence would become unbearable. "I can't really remember, it was a long time ago now though. How about you?"
"I started at sixteen, when my mom got diagnosed with schizophrenia."
"That's rough, man."
Our conversation cut short as we both heard the bell ring, signaling that the lesson was soon to begin.
"Until we meet again!" Dylan bowed, "until we meet again" I echoed. He grinned before we departed.
Overall Dylan was a nice guy, quite stupid but nice. He was good company when you just wanted to talk about random subjects without digging too deep.
Dylan was also one of the popular males amongst the crowd. When talking to Julia I saw him in the corner of my eye, sitting by her table. I had completely forgotten about his presence when I was talking to the dark haired female.
I walked down the empty hallways, class had started three minutes ago. I rubbed my neck as I felt it being overly stiff for some random reason before opening the door to my calculus class.
Mr Philips glared at me however did not utter a single word. I took my usual seat, which was in the middle, in front of Milo. I could feel his penn poking my back.
"Where have you been?" He whispered, "smoking" I answered. He glared at me as I took a glance at him.
"It took you quite a long time, longer than usual." Milo commented, making me rethink. I certainly did take longer this time, guess I wasn't overly motivated to get into class. I shrugged my shoulders, Milo sighed before he started taking notes again.
I turned around to my own book of empty pages, I remember promising myself to take some notes. Well that went like planned.
