Lost in Japan

"Do you got plans tonight? I'm a couple hundred miles from Japan and, and I can't get you off my mind." - LIJ, Shawn Mendes

Mason groaned. Just what he wanted. Being dragged by his sister to a Shawn Mendes concert and go deaf by all the high pitched squealing. He wasn't even 20 yet and he was already losing hearing cells.

Shawn himself was a good guy and great singer. Mason liked the dude. The singer didn't seem cocky and was very humble. But CHRIST, the SCREAMING. Including his sister. WHY hadn't he brought his earplugs??

"Omigod, omigod, omigod, he's coming up to B stage! Omigod, OMIGOD!" went his sister squealing.

"I don't understand y'all Becca. Just leave the guy be and let him sing. That's his job." Mason rolled his eyes at his 15-year old sibling.

"But he's like super HOT. Have you seen those biceps? Ooooh, and that voice. That be the voice of an angel. You really should thank me for this opportunity." Becca said.

"Yes, thank you Becca for my enlightenment." Mason snarked.

"You're welcome! Aww, Shawn is waving at us! SHAWN, I LOVE YOU!!!!" Becca screamed. Mason's hand met his face in a loud SLAP!

And the screaming continued. The guy was good, but Mason really needed to get his ears checked out soon. He swore they started ringing. How the hell did Shawn put up with this for months on end?

Midway through the song (Lost in Japan, as his sis informed him), he looked to his right and saw a girl. She met his eyes, smiled and continued singing the lyrics.

"Do I gotta convince you, that you shouldn't fall asleep? It'll only be a couple hours, and I'm about to leave..."

Mason's breath caught in his throat. She was so beautiful. Mahogany colored locks flowing gently down her back until it reached a little above her elbow. She had a gentle smile , full of kindness and compassion. He wanted to see what color her eyes were. Suddenly, the wistful atmosphere created by Shawn's song encompassed him.

"...can't seem to get you off my mind..."

She'd occasionally glance at him and he would try his best not to blush, but he didn't think he really succeeded.

"Mase, can you get me some soda? I'm thirsty but I'm not leaving." Becca asked from his left.

"Sure." He glanced quickly to his right and was disappointed to see that the girl wasn't there.  Oh well. He'd have to keep an eye out for her.
