Unknown POV * * * * *
"I'm faceless in a sea of faces." I heard her murmur, and instantly felt worse because I didn't know who she was. The girl had looked like she was going to jump, and that scared me half to death. What eleven year old, she's a first year, I know that much, feels like this? I had seen her around with that little girl, the Weasley girl, but no one else.
I watched as she yawned, laying down on the astronomy tower. I flinched at how dangerous it was to sleep up here. If she squirmed in her sleep, she could roll over the edge. I waited for her to go to sleep before picking her up and carrying her into the hospital wing quietly. Madam Pomfrey noticed me, but I ignored her as I lay the small, redheaded girl on the bed.
Without another word, I left.
Sam's POV * * * * *
I woke up in the hospital wing, which confused me. How had I gotten here? I looked myself over for bumps and bruises but found none. So, I hopped out of bed and ran to my dorm. I brushed my hair quickly, as I was running late, then my teeth. I pulled on my school robes and bustled down the stairs as quick as possible. Gin was looking frantically around the common room, stopping when she saw me. "Sam." She sighed in relief, causing me to blush.
"Hey Ginny. Sorry, I fell asleep on the astronomy tower." I murmured, running a tired hand through my hair. Ginny gasped, but I was staring at the diary. She takes it with her everywhere. And it's a bit weird how ink disappears, especially after she pauses every once in a while. I shook off my paranoia, following her into the hall.
"Sam that's dangerous!"
"I know. The weird thing is though, someone had to have taken me to the hospital wing because that's where I woke up." I frowned a bit, and she gave me a curious look. "I know for sure I fell asleep on the tower, but I woke up in the hospital wing." I paused. "If I would've sleep walked I'd have come to the dorm. Right?"
"Most likely. So who do you think it was?" Ginny raised an eyebrow as we sat at the table, putting food on our plates.
"Probably some professor or a prefect." I shrugged, seeing my letter from my brother. Ginny pulled out her diary as I read it.
Dear Sam,
Can't wait to hear all about your first day. And I'm so happy to hear about your friend! Really Sam, that's great! I'm so proud of you it isn't funny. I'm glad you're putting yourself out there and attempting to make some memories. You and Ginny have fun on your first day of lessons and tell her I said hi. I can't wait to meet her.
Second, Gryffindor? I think I might have to get a second opinion. Just kidding Sam. That's brilliant! I couldn't believe it when you told me, I had to reread it a few times, actually. Randy and Andy are in for early holidays, I made those two and Samuel read the passage describing Gryffindors and then let them read your letter. They had a good laugh about it. Don't worry, big brother hit all three of them.
As for your wand, I don't think I would have got impatient. I mean, that's amazing! And I read each has a different effect, mainly negative until you find your own wand. It would have been so cool to watch my baby sister mess stuff up by waving this little stick around. Your wand sounds really cool Sam, and as jealous as I am, I am even more happy for you!
Lots of love,
Jackson.xx
I scribbled a quick reply as Ginny finished up in her diary, telling him that I'm sorry for the shortness but he'll get a longer one at the end of the week describing all the classes and I promise to give him details. I put it in my bag to send off before looking up at my best friend. "Done?"
