Betty POV

I cannot believe I am actually here. I walk into the huge villa, wow it's beautiful. I hear stilettos tapping and walk towards that sound. A beautiful girl with fiery red hair is standing there with a glass of champagne. "Hey! How long have you been here, hope I haven't left you lonely for too long." I say as I get closer. She smiles and replies.
"I'm fine hun, I found the alcohol." She laughs as I take a seat opposite her.
"Hi I'm Betty" I say as I lean over to give her a hug.
"Cheryl. How great is this place." She says with a bright smile on her face.
"Absolutely amazing. I'm so excited." I say. Just then another girl turns around the corner.
"Hi girls, I'm Josie. Wow you're both stunning." She says as she approaches.
"Hi babe, I'm Betty." I say, giving her a warm hug. She hugs Cheryl.
"I'm Cheryl, so nice to meet you."
We continue to chat whilst the other two girls arrive. Their names are Melody and Ethel, though Ethel gave me some weird vibes initially.

Then the host Kevin Keller walks in. A gay icon honestly.
"Hi ladies how are we feeling?" We all reply with a "good" or something along those lines. We then line up in front of the pool. Kevin continues to speak.
"So when each boy walks out, I will ask you to step forward if you fancy that boy. The boy can then choose any of you, even if you don't step forward. A boy can also choose a girl that is already in a couple, which would send the other boy onto the subs bench. Let's get started. Please welcome you're first boy, Nick."
A boy with kind of curly hair and what looks like an incredibly fake smile walks out and stands in front of us. He looks each girl up and down, making most of us visibly uncomfortable. He doesn't even greet Kevin, just walks right past him and starts eyeing up Cheryl, then me, Josie, Ethel and finally Melody. Kevin asks the girls to step forward if they fancy Nick. Cheryl and Josie both immediately step forward. I stay firmly in place, there was no attraction there at all. Nick licks his lips as he chooses Josie.
Next a boy with dark hair and gorgeous blue eyes walks towards Kevin and gives him a hug, greeting him politely. He has a little curl that falls onto his forehead, it's cute, he's cute. I step forward and so does Ethel. If he picks her over me I might just start crying. Ethel seemed quite cold to me earlier, I don't know why, I tried to be as nice as possible. Kevin begins to speak. "Jughead you can choose any of these girls, even Josie who is already in a couple." Jughead smiles and spoke, looking directly at me.
"I'd like to choose Betty." I internally celebrate as he walks over to me and gives me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I smile and say hi as the next boy comes out. His name is Reggie, he is muscular and has quite a structured face but I am not interested because I'm happy with Jughead. Melody is the only one who steps forward and Reggie soon chooses her. Next a red headed boy walks out, he's attractive but he isn't my type so I stay in Jughead's arms. Ethel steps forward again and Josie leaves Nick behind and joins her. Archie is just about to decide and I've kind of spaced out until I hear my name. What? Me? Damn that means I lost Jughead. Archie walks over to me and puts his arm over my shoulders. Well this isn't ideal. Jughead is sent over to the subs bench and I give him a sympathetic look so he knows I'm sorry. I'm not about to abandon him. Next a boy named Chuck comes out, again he's not for me romantically but I could see him being a decent friend. Ethel and Cheryl both step forward, Cheryl looks cool as a cucumber, even though she's still not in a couple and this is the last boy. She seems like quite a calm person, I think we'll get along well. Chuck chooses Cheryl, leaving Ethel with.. great, Jughead. For gods sake, the one boy I liked and he's with the other girl that stepped forward for him. Fun.
Off to a fabulous start, we were left to get to know each other. Archie pulls me aside and we sit on a day bed to have a chat. We speak for a bit but everything feels purely friendly, there is no romantic spark. "Look I'm sorry, I panicked and I'm kind of bad at this but I can sense that this isn't gonna happen. I saw the way you looked at Jughead when he walked away, I get it. I was just flustered and Ethel isn't for me and I thought Nick was going to snap my neck if I stole his girl. I kind of chose you because you looked the most welcoming, like you were actually smiling at me, unlike Ethel who literally still scares me. You can go and talk to Jughead, I know you want to." He winks at me when he says Jughead's name and I blush and thank him for understanding. I'm sure we'll be good friends, and I do kind of feel bad for him.

Jughead looks incredibly uncomfortable talking to Ethel as she is leaning towards him batting her eyelashes like her life depends on it. I stroll over and he meets my eyes and smiles. I get closer and Ethel gives me a death glare and looks disgusted by my presence. "Jug, can I borrow you for a minute?" He nods and smiles while standing up, assuming Ethel will not move for us. We move towards the swing, and begin to talk. (Jughead italics Betty normal)
"Hey what's up?"
"I just wanted to see where you're at with like what happened and everything. I also reckoned you could do with an excuse to get out of there."
"I'm glad someone can see it. Just wish she could. Um, I don't want to be too forward or anything, but you're kind of the only girl in here I'm interested in. Saying that, I don't Want to hold you back from whatever you have with Archie."
"Jughead, don't be stupid."
"What?"
"Did I miss when I stepped forward for Archie? Because as far as I'm concerned, you are the only one I left that spot for. I'm talking to you for a reason. Me and Archie sorted it out, there isn't a romantic connection there. He said he just panicked and picked me. He's a nice lad but I'm not interested. Not like I am with you."
"Cheesy"
"Shut up loser"
"I guess we'll see what happens. Might have to help me get Ethel to step down though. Not looking forward to sharing that bed."
"Then share one with me. We can sleep outside."
"If you're down, I'm down. Wouldn't want you to be cold."
"Won't be a problem, you can keep me warm." I wink at him an we laugh and continue getting to know each other.

I'm still sat with Jughead when we hear a loud "Hiiiiii!" We turn around and see a beautiful girl with dark hair walk in. We slowly begin to get up and approach her.
I walk up to her and give her a hug. "Hi babe. I'm Betty." We pull apart and she smiles.
"I'm Veronica. Lovely to meet you." She says and goes to say hi to Archie, who looks very excited at the thought of a new girl, I'll ask him what he thinks about her later.
Once she's met everyone in the villa, we sit around the fire pit to get to know her, and each other since its been a few hours. I sat next to Jug on the end and noticed Archie was sat next to Veronica. I giggle to myself as he stared at her for a solid minute.
Chuck: "So Veronica, tell us what you're normal type is."
Veronica: "Has anyone else even said this? I didn't come in that late."
Ethel: "Will you just answer the question so we can listen to someone else?" Rude. I'm not a fan of Ethel already. Veronica looks a bit taken aback.
Veronica: "Well, my normal type I guess is like quite muscular and tall but I'm not too fussy, as long as I feel that connection, you know?" Everyone looks quite satisfied by her answer, besides Ethel, who is still giving her the stink eye.
Veronica: "Well what about everyone else? It can't just be me answering the questions. Tell me, who's happy with their couples?" Archie is relatively fast to reply.
Archie: "Me and Betty have decided were just gonna be friends. There was no romantic connection or anything. At least not with me." He winks at me and Jughead. I blush and look away, waiting for someone to talk and distract everyone. I make eye contact with Ethel, who has changed her death stare from Veronica to me. Nick coughed and spoke "Me and Josie are good, but obviously my options are still open." He has a smug smirk on his face and he looks Veronica up and down, landing on her chest and not moving. She shuffles uncomfortably. I can see that maybe we need to separate, and it's getting late.
Betty: "How about we get ready for the evening, it's getting darker every minute." I stand up and grab Veronica's hand, smiling at Jughead as we walk up to the changing room with the girls following. Something tells me this evening isn't going to go well.
