It was about 30 minutes to an hour until I got to my mothers house. How much I've missed this place. I knocked on the door, and she answered the door. Once she realized I was there. She almost cried tears of joy. I hugged my mother because I didn't mean to make her cry. I'm just glad that I got to see her. The last time I saw her was probably around 6 years ago. The kids somehow got out of the car quietly and appeared right behind me which scared me. All of them were shy, because they didn't know who my mom. Scott and Leo weren't even born I was still pregnant with them. Scarlett was 1 and Khloe was 2 so they wouldn't remember who my mom was since they were to young to remember her.
"Luna what are you doing her?" My mom said wiping away her tears.
"Well me and Liam are getting a divorce and we aren't living at our house anymore." I said taking deep breaths.
"What happened?" My mom said giving me this look that I haven't seen before.
"He was cheating on me with this woman called Lillian." I said trying very hard not to cry.
"My poor child. You can stay here I have plenty of room for you and your kids." My mom said smiling hoping this could make up for 6 years.
"Sure. We've actually been staying at a hotel room." I said.
"You could've called me I have plenty of room in this house." My mom said.
"I didn't know if we were on speaking terms, and plus I didn't know who to talk to." I said.
"We are now, and I want to be in your kids life more." My mom said opening the door more.
"Can we come in?" I said feeling awkward.
"Of course." My mom said.
I unload the car and bring in their suitcases. But I need to go to the hotel and get the bags we got from the mall. Which would take about 35 minutes or less if there's no traffic. Once I got to the hotel. I went up to the room and grabbed all the bags, and I had to check out. That took about an hour to do all that. Than it took me a an hour to get back to my mom's house. When I got to her house it was already 10 in the night. The porch light was on and it seems like lights were still on so I'm assuming the kids haven't gone to bed yet.
I knocked on the door and my mom opened the door. I expected it to be my kids who would wait for me to get home. Which surprises me, because when I was still living with her. She would always go to bed early like around 8 pm.
My mom opened up the door enough that I could get through.
"Mom why are you still awake?" I asked her confused.
"Because we need to catch up on what I missed in your life." My mom said getting something out of the kitchen.
"Yeah. There's a lot I need to tell you." I said looking at the wine she was pouring into wine glasses.
"Where should I start?" I asked my mom who was already sitting at the kitchen table.
"Maybe when you stopped talking to me." My mom said sarcastically.
"Well after I stopped speaking to you. Me and Liam got into some arguments about different things, and arguments had became frequently for us. Until Khloe and Scarlett started growing up and the twins too. I found out that they share the same gift I have." I said.
"I didn't know that. I don't mean to hurt your feelings if he did this, but did you ever abuse you?" My mom said.
"Sadly yes, but I've gone to therapy. He did stop abusing me." I said trying not to remember the feeling of hopeless.
"I'm sorry that happened. I should've been there for you." My mom said sipping her wine.
"I know mom, but I didn't know this is how he would treat me." I said a tear rolling down my cheek.
"Has there been any demons following you ever since New Orleans?" My mom asked knowing that's still a subject I don't want to talk about ever.
"Actually a demon has been following me, and Leo, Scott, and Khloe have seen it and I'm scared for their safety. I'm hoping that nothing happens to them." I said taking a sip of my wine.
"Nothing is going to happen to them. Luna you just need to have a positive mindset. I'm thinking why there's a demon following you is because you always have a negative mindset." My mom said get some cheese to go with her wine.
"Well I don't know how to get rid of my negative mindset, and I don't think it's my negative mindset. I think it's something else that's all." I said hoping my mom isn't correct.
"Luna I can tell your get tired. Do you want me to show you to your room?" My mom said picking her glass up and rinsing it out with water.
"Yeah I am becoming tired. I can just sleep on the couch." I said.
"I still have your old room the way you left it." My mom said walking down the hallway towards my bedroom.
