She was hoping to get outside through the front door unnoticed, but that plan failed. When she got down the stairs, she was face to face with Edaline. I thought she went upstairs with Dad. Sophie mentally face palmed herself before telling Edaline she was going to walk around for a bit and then go check on Silviney.

"Sounds good to me. I think you need to do something to get your mind off of the Neverseen. It'll be good for you. Just don't stray too far, okay Sophie?"

"Okay Mom, see you later!" Sophie called out as she walked out the door. Phew. That was close. At least it was Mom and not Dad. She was walking towards Calla's tree when she felt someone hug her waist from behind. Keefe.

"Keefe..." Sophie started.

"Whaaaaaaaat? I thought you needed some chee-"

"I just wanted to ask you to let go of my waist."

"Oh..." He let go of her and then just turned around. The way that he said it made her heart melt. I wonder if he's blushing. Sophie realized that the conversation wasn't going anywhere, so she decided to transmit to him.

Hey, Keefe can I talk to you?

Sure, but I have something to ask you first.

Go on...

Why am I sensing some weird emotions?

Funny, that's what I wanted to talk to you about.

By the way your mood just shifted, we need to sit down.

Keefe went and sat down at the base of Calla's tree with his back on the trunk and his legs pulled toward him. He looked up at Sophie, and patted the ground right next to him. But, for whatever reason, she didn't want to.

"Come on Foster! Worried that my good looks will make you stumble?" he smirked while running his hand trough is messy, but tamed, hair. Something about made her do something she would have never have thought of doing. She sat on Keefe's lap and just stared at him. He stared back, confused, but never told her to get off. Her head was on his chest, and Keefe just played with her hair. They stayed like that for a while. Then, Sophie moved her head up on his shoulder and began her story.
