"So Lexi, how are things? How's dad?" She asks, taking a seat across from me. She calls me lexi from Alexander. She knows I hate it, I always have, because its a girl name.

"Things are fine. Dad is dead." I state and look her in the eye.

"Dead? How?" Concern and sadness wash over her features and she leans forward, listening to me word by word.

"Someone killed him." I answer ever so nonchalantly. She frowns.

"And mom?" She seems angry. We never did get along so great. She was very much the apple of their eyes and I'd always be discarded. Forgotten.

"Great, actually." Elise sits the coffee in front of me and I mouth "thank you" and she hums in response. Lynden starts telling me her life story about how she went to the human world and lived there, going to school and what-not. I zone out of course. She knows I don't really care.

What about Elise? What if I picked her instead of Leanea? Elise is a very good listener and she does what she's told, when I ask and how I ask her to do it. She used to have this child-like crush which was pretty obvious, on me but a few years ago I guess she let it go.

She's so cute though.

I bet she would make a great luna.

"Lexi?" I turn my attention back to her. She rolls her eyes.

" I want you to meet a few of my best friends. It's really important to me. They know about were-wolfs and stuff. I had to tell them a while back. But their cool about it and even help me out here and there. Yeah?" She says.

"I guess. Lynden, why are you here? You know I can't stand you, and I know you don't "fancy" me. Don't beat around the bush. I can't stand small talk." I cut to the chase.

"Okay. Alexander, I need your help." She speaks out, in a serious tone.

"With what?" I raise an eyebrow and move closer to hear her better.

"2 years ago I did a stupid deal with a very sneaky alpha. I was drunk, and I don't remember much. Long story short, he somehow has something against you and found out that I'm your sister so he recently rejected his real mate so he can mate into this family and use my rank thus, becoming the biggest pack in the world. He wants me to bear more of his pups. And get this, this sick bastard already has kids." She lets out quick.

It's true, she's supposed to be alpha instead of me. That's why I tried to kill her. I suck my teeth in for a moment.

"He held me captive for a about a week until I recently ran away. I have nowhere else to turn. I need to use the pack. It's rightfully mine. But I need to just borrow it. I don't want to be an alpha. Can you help me? No funny business?" She asks.

I exhale.

"Look Lynden. You made your bed, and now you have to lay in it." I say carefully. This doesn't seem like it has anything to do with me.

"But I didn't make it! It doesn't matter. Look, I'll let you in a family secret that you should have known before pops was murdered." She says in a hushed tone as well.

"You have to understand, I don't care. I won't help you, nice to see your alive and that she failed to slaughter you cause that shit was really eating me up, and.. goodbye." I sit my finished cup of coffee down and start strolling out the kitchen.

Suddenly, black smoke, or some type of fog starts to forms in front of me and my feet leave the ground. Wait..

"What the hell?" My vision blurs and I start forgetting how to breath. I can't forget. How can I forget how to breath? How do I breath? I start gasping for air and my head begins pound, like someone is beating my brain with a sledgehammer.

I let out a cough and blood spurts out.

Then, it all stops.

My body collapses on the floor and I pant, looking up at Lynden.

"Did you just see that?" I ask ever so appalled, on high alert now.

"I just did that." She speaks nonchalantly as if she didn't just almost kill me. I stand and take a step back.

"How? What are you?" I breath out.

"Is your wolf all black?" She questions.

"Yes? What does that have to do with anything?" Really, I'm starting to get mad.

"Our mom's grandma's grandma was exposed to a matter that was deadly to were-wolf kind. As you know, if a were wolf mates with a human they can turn them into one. They did an experiment with 4 other wolfs plus her, seeing what would happen if they absorbed the matter. They mixed souls with the five elements, and killed everyone who worked there that knew about it." I nod, not really following.

"The five elements. Green, amazing abundance for the person with the green wolf and whoever else they'd like. Red. Terrible rage, for the red wolf and whoever else they want. White, immortality. Black, death. And purple, or like lavender. They can heal anything or anyone. Even in resurrection." She states.

"So I have death?" I ask, fairly puzzled.

"Us both. It skips a generation." She answers.

"Okay." I try and wrap my head around what she's telling me. If I knew how to use whatever this is, I would be unstoppable. "You can use the pack but, show me how to use it. Deal?" I hold my right hand out. She shakes it firmly.

"Deal." She says with confidence.
