After I get Lynden settled, the pack retreats to there own rooms and the house falls quiet.

I go into my office and sink into my chair. I'm exhausted. Fuck. I shake it off and sit up straight. These papers. Ah, yes. The layout for the IndigoStone pack to be taken over. That son of a bitch Alpha Richard. I need the land and plus, he's already gotten on my last nerve. We had a deal.

We team up. Split the duties.

I did this since his son, Harry, will soon be taking over there pack. But, he tried to double cross me so, a few months back I threatened him. He did nothing about it so I'll very soon be going and claiming that low-lifes pack.

All of a sudden, I starts to feel a pain.

It's not mine.

"Damien...?"

"That's not me. It's dulcenea. She's having her heat. We need to go help her. Her wolf is howling for me." He grumbles.

I don't want to. Of course, I don't want her in pain since she's my mate and everything. But, she's so young. And so, so dumb. So how could I do something that could give her pups. I can barely resist her as it is.

"Are you gonna help or no?"

"No"

Damian growls out and goes away.

I overlook the blueprints in front of me. Holy fuck. Can she not be in this much pain? It's burning on my heart and I want to take it away. I want to help.

I know that it isn't smart.

I already kinda wanted to take her until she can't remember her name. I know she hates me though, she tried to reject me.

Another wave of flames swoons over me and I suck in a breath. Why did I have to mark her? I growl out but immediately stop. I hear a faint cry. Her heavenly voice. She's in pain and I'm the only one that can help.

Her cry's fill the room and I freeze.

All I can hear is her.

I stand up and barge out of my office.

"Be smart about this."

He's right.

I pull at the roots of my hair and growl in frustration. This will be a long night...
