"Come on!" I huffed
"It's not going to happen"
"Charlie you're being difficult" I say crossing my arms
"I'm being difficult? You're the one annoying me about some piece of paper"
"Not a piece of paper, it's a list. It'll be fun"
"Maybe fun for you"
"Fun for the both of us"
"Sydney I said no" he said sternly with those cold dark eyes of his and I rolled my eyes. I take in his presence, tall body slouched in his chair. He wears black ripped skinny jeans with a black shirt that match his black hair. He has a silver chain around his neck that I have never been close enough to him to see. His eyes are a mixture of brown and green, the ones that remind you of the ocean when it's dark and you could barely see. He's pale and has slightly dark circles from lack of sleep.
"You're no fun! You have the perfect opportunity to do things you've always wanted to do before-"
"Before what? Before I die of cancer?" He said and I thought he was upset but then he smirked "what do I get if we do this?" Still with that clever smirk
"You get the satisfaction of completing an amazing bucket list, and a special bonus you get to complete it with me"
I take a moment to think how we even got here, it's a simple Tuesday night and I'm upside down on his bed with my legs against the wall and he's slouched in his spinny chair. I never thought I'd meet someone on a dating app then be in their room a week later. Ironic as it sounds we are just and now here we are.
"Sydney you know what, I'll do it. We can make a bucket list, the fuck cancer list. But try not to fall in love with me while we're at it" he gives me a wink, two can play at this game.
I get up off the bed and bend over the spinny chair he is in and lay my hands on his forearms that are on the arms of the chair."Same goes to you baby" I whisper in his ear and I felt his body tense up a bit. "Okay so let's start with a pen and paper"
"So anything on this paper we both need to do? Together?"
"Yes, see you're a fast learner" he smirked at my comment
"Fine tattoos, I pick your tattoo and you pick mine" he says. Oh jeebies
"No needles, nope I will not, no pain" I said as the pen in my left hand starts to tremble slightly
"Come on Sydney, you're the one who wanted to do this now you must" he gives me that charming smile of his and takes the pen out of my hand and writes down 'tattoos picked by the other' curse my creative idea to make cancer boy live his life.
"Fine but we don't need to do these in order" he nods
"I've always wanted a dog" he writes down 'adopt a dog'
We spend hours completing our 'fuck cancer list' and I'm extremely excited that he agreed to this, we haven't known each other long but he needs a friend, the poor guy has cancer and hasn't told his friends, his mom is an important business lady who's never home and his dad is out of the picture. He needs this. He started chemotherapy not too long ago and besides being in the hospital or at work he's in this big suburban house by himself. I couldn't imagine being all lonely at a time like this, although we don't live in a great big house like this one I'm grateful for my dad and mom and my little brother Sam. Charlie is all alone. We've been here for hours and I don't know what it is but I'm comfortable with him, well as comfortable as you can get with someone from the internet.
