Chapter 11. Finally

Rain kept tapping on the windows in the morning as well. Light from large streaks of lightning filled the room with the clapping of thunder. I hated it. Rolling over I pressed my face into Romans sleeping chest trying to escape the sounds, but to no avail. This saturday was looking to be doom and gloom all day weather wise.

I peeked up at Roman. Times running out. After this project is done will we even speak to each other? Will we see each other? I'm so used to going to his house, sleeping there, even eating there. What's going to happen?

What do I want anyways. I feel so alone all the time but with him, I don't have that some feeling. Reaching up I brushed my fingers gently against his cheek. Soft snores escaped his lips as he slept. I'm still scared, I'm still so confused on what is going on. But, I don't want to lose him. My heart rate quickened and my face grew hot.

With out even realizing what I was doing I brought my face closer to his and lightly brushed my lips against his. I pulled away and heard a breathy chuckle coming from what I thought was a sleeping Roman. He peeked open one eye and smirked at me. "So thats how you are gonna wake me up now." My face grew even hotter as I stammered for words.

"N-no I was just.....just...checking to see if you were still breathing." He propped himself up listening to me finding words with a smug look on his face. "Wh-what?"

He shrugged smiling still. "Dunno, keep doing things like that and I might start thinking you really do like me." I stuck my tongue out at him before hopping out of my bed. "Ya know," I strolled over to the window and opened it letting the sound of rain fill the room, there is something soothing about the sound of rain."

"So what was yesterday all about? You seemed pretty out of it and kinda pissed." I clenched my jaw and pursed my lips. "Some one I haven't seen in a while came back so there is that."

"Good or bad?" Roman asked.

"Bad." I heard the covers russteling as he continued to press. "And what about that slip?"

"It was bassically the school telling me I need to talk about what happened so they sent me to the counselor. He proceeded to ask me about what happened but I didn't say anything other than what I know myself. 2 guys, dragged me, beat me, and then left. He said I was wasting his time but I will be back everyday by school mandation until this insident is solved."

Roman came up behind be wrapping his arms around my waist and placed his head in the crook of my neck. Instinctively I rested my hands ontop of his. I need this. I need him. I need to know what would happen.

"Hey Roman, once the project is done, what are we gonna do?" I felt his body stiffen against mine before he released a long breath. "Depeneds what would you like to happen?" I grew silent letting the sound of Rain fill the room again. The air was still and neither of us moved.

"I.... I dont want you to go. I'm not confused. I'm scared. Scared that when this project is done we won't see each other at any point other than school and I'll be back to being alone. I know I have friends but I dont feel connected to them. But you, when I am with you I don't feel that. That feeling of loneliness."

"Its normal to be scared after what happened. You had the shit kicked out of you over me catching you, who's to say it wont get worse if we end up together." Worrie filled my head about it getting worse and worse until Romans voice broke those thoughts. "But if we do end up together, I will protect you."

I spun around and pulled Roman close to me wrapping my arms around his neck. He snaked his arms around my torso firmly holding me in place. I know what to do now. "No matter how hard it gets right?" I said in to his neck, he nodded back and whispered. "You bet your sweet ass I will."

I chuckled some. As Roman tilted my chin up so I was looking at him. "So do you want to try?" I looked in to his icey blue eyes gazing down at me full of hope. Slowly i nodded my head and a wide smile spread across his face. He pulled me in to a tight hug. "H-hey! Easy, I'm not fully healed yet." He luaghed some and cupped my face brining it to his and gently placed a kiss on my lips.

My face flushed and my heart fluttered. I do want this.

Roman's POV:

I can't belive it. He siad yes! He really said yes! I felt like a kid on Christmas that has just gotten the gift he has always wanted. I know he is still worried but I'll be there for him. I wont let anything happen to you.

The day passed by with Damon and I lazing about. Our project was done so we didn't have to worry about that. We watched a few movies before my father called me home for dinner. Damon tagged along of corse. I couldn't wait to tell him about us.

The smell of french toast and eggs filled me. I walked in to the kitchen and laughed a little. "Breakfast for dinner?" Dad popped his head up and just gave me a smile. "Yeah, your brother isn't here and you weren't here. Which remninds me where did you go last night at two in the morning?"

My father put his dad tone on and I rolled my eyes a little. "Where do you think? I got a call at about one thirty from someone who was afraid ghosts were going to get them."

"Still shoulda told me."

"Still don't regret it." We all sat down and began to eat. I was shovelling eggs in to my mouth when i saw damon laughing. "Whaaaf?" I said moutg full. "You're like a cute puppy that is eating for the first time."

"No," my cheeks flushed, "if I were to be any kind of dog i would be a ferocious one." His laughing only got harder. My father peeked over at me raising an eye brow at us. I just gave him a smile that said it all.

That night Damon slept at my place he didn't feel like being alone and, to be honest, I missed his company. Damon passed out before me so I sat at my desk plating my Xbox. today seemed perfect and I don't want it to end but I know at least tomorrow he will still be here.

Yaaaaaayyy happy chapter! They are finally together!
