"Uważaj! (watch out!)

I yell as I quickly jump over someones food stand. I look back to access the damage and see a poor old man picking up what was his food stand. I force myself to look away and concentrate on where I'm going. I spot a cute little shop around the corner and go in,

"Witam drodzy (hello dear)" a sweet old women says from around the front desk,

"dzień dobry (good afternoon)" I smile and go around to the back of the store

I put on a new shirt and hat while grabbing a light fall jacket. I grab the biggest sunglasses I could find and pay for my new look. I wave at the old women and step outside only to crash into an anxious looking man

"przepraszam pani (sorry ma'am)" he says while running away from me. Three other men follow after him all running after something. I smirk to myself and watch as they run away from what they're after.

"Idiots" i say as I take off in the opposite direction,

being more careful this time I make sure not to run into any food stands and make it to an old run down plate shop safely. I jog up the steps and into my apartment. I tare off the sunglasses and hat and start collecting my things. I grabbed a small bag and put all my passports in it along with some money. i go down the stairs and to the front of the shop and see its owner, AKA my only friend.

"czas na mnie, przyjacielu (its time for me to move on, my friend)" I say while giving the old man a hug,

"już? czy Polska nie była dla ciebie wystarczająco przyjazna? (already? has Poland not been welcoming enough for you?)

I shake my head and look down, "było cudownie, ale- (its been wonderful but-)"

"ale tu nie ma? (but they're here aren't they?)" he says before I can finish,

"tak (yes)

"bądź bezpieczny kochanie. Mam nadzieję, że spotkamy się ponownie (be safe darling. I hope we meet again)" he says while giving me a small picture of him in front of his shop. the same picture I took the first day I met him, when he offered me a place to stay.

I smile, "zrobimy to, upewnię się o tym (we will, I'll make sure of it)

I wave goodbye at Abel and get into my taxi. Goodbyes were my specialty. I could bid farewell to anyone I loved as easy as I could breathe. Abel knew nothing about my life. All he knew was that They  were after me and at any moment I would get up and leave. That didn't stop him from sharing his life with me and loving me like an older friend would. He told me I remained him of his pasted daughter and that he hopes one day id be free from whomever I was running from.

I smile as I watch Poland pass by before my eyes. It was a beautiful country with amazing people and one day I would be back for Abel to bring him the wonderful news of my freedom. Realizing we've arrived  I thank the driver and get out putting my hat back on. I walk into the airport and up to a front desk,

"gdzie? (where to?)" the lady at the front asks,

"gdziekolwiek wybierzesz (wherever, you pick)" i say while getting my wallet out,

"jak brzmi Canada? (how does Canada sound?)

"idealny (perfect)" I say while paying for my ticket

I walk to my gate and patiently wait for my flight. Canadas one of the very few places I haven't been to before. Realizing I have a lot of time to kill I take out my stack of photos and look through them. these are all the places I've been to and on the back of each one is a persons name.  A person I need to go back to, a person I love and will protect.

I sigh and put them back in my bag where they are safe. I start to get really tired but refuse to sleep because I am still in the Polish airport and they must be running around here somewhere. The people I'm running from aren't exactly hunting exports. yes, they are extremely dangerous and have connections all over the world but hunting people down isn't one of there top attributes. That doesn't mean they don't find me though. sometimes depending on how lucky they are,  they can find me in months but other times it takes them closer to a year. either or is enough time for me to learn the language and appreciate the people I meet in my new location. A loud voice on the intercom breaks me out of my thoughts,

I look and see that people are starting to board so I line up and eventually get on the plane. I get comfortable and allow myself to doze off when I finally confirm that im safe again.

I can finally allow my heart to go back to a normal pace and let down my tough façade. what I cannot control however are the silent tears that run down my face as this happens.
