the next few days I woke up earlier than Olivia and I went on a run. I would buy some clothing if it caught my interest and I can now say I have almost four different outfits. Today was a rainy day so I knew not many people would be out this early. I pass the only coffee shop I know and keep going straight till I reach the school. Avoiding Olivia hasn't been to hard because she goes to school everyday and works the evening shifts. I work the day shifts and go out at night.

The school was big and rich looking. The word academy was in its name and that only could mean preppy uniforms and rich kids. Olivia wasn't like that though so maybe she's on the outskirts of the social circle. I go up to the front and see brochures for the school. I grab one and open it but a voice startles me,

"thinking about joining us in this hell are you"

I turn around to meet curious grey eyes starring at me... that's never good

"I guess I am" I say while looking at anything but him

"Potrei farti visitare la città se vuoi? (I could show you around town if you want?)" he asks

And without even thinking I reply

"oh, non sarà necessario, grazie (oh that won't be needed, thank you though)"

"I knew it. You to speak Italian and you were eavesdropping on me and my friend at the cafe" he says while grabbing my arm

I quickly shake off his arm and move so he's no longer trapping me in

"my apologies. Olivia wanted to know if Ben liked her. I didn't listen for long I promise"

he laughs a little and just looks at me,

"you don't look Italian" he finally questions

"that's cause I'm not" I say while walking down the steps

"then where are you from?"

I look back at him for a moment and see that he's stopped a few steps behind me,

"everywhere"

"well can you at least tell me your name"

I turn around for a final time and slightly shake my head

"don't worry about it Reese"

"hey thats a bit unfair don't you think. You know mine and I don't know yours"

I hear him but I keep walking. Once I make it a good distance away I turn around and he's disappeared. People will chase a mystery till the mystery gets to hard to figure out. Reese will get bored of asking for my name and move onto a different girl, an available one.

When I get back Olivia is up and getting ready for school.

"Oh hey my mom got you unrolled in my school. You start tomorrow but you need to come in today to fill in some paperwork and such. You have a lot of missing information"

"ok let me go change"

She nods her head and puts on her tie
I put on jeans and a long sleeve shirt and leave 10 minutes later with her. When we get there the front of the school is packed with a bunch of kids. Girls in skirts and dress shirts and boys in dress pants and dress shirts. Everyone was staring at Olivia and i unconsciously take a step away from her.

"Olivia everyone's starring at you"

She laughs and grabs my arm pulling me to her,

"No actually there starring at you"

I look around and see that everyone is actually starring at me and I put my head down not wanting to draw to much attention to myself.
Olivia drops me off at the office and I go inside and take the only available seat- right next to Ben. I smile at him to be polite but direct my attention to the desk in front of me. Hopefully he'd get the sign that I didn't want to talk.

"Nailah?" An older gentleman calls out completely mispronouncing my name

"it's pronounced Nal-ya" I say while standing up
the person i assume is the principal apologizes and walks me to an office.

"Ok Nailah you don't have any paper work from previous schools so I'm going to ask you a bunch of questions. Is that ok?"

No

"Yes of course" I smile

"Ok last name?"

"I don't know mine" lie

"Uh mother or father?"

"never met them" lie

"home town?"

"sorry I wish I could tell you but I don't know" lie

"I'm sorry Ms I'm a bit confused" he says putting down the paper he was supposed to write my information on

"I'm an orphan. Never knew my parents or anything about myself actually. I was in the system for a while but when I turned 15 I left to live on my own. It was easier" lie

"Ok well I'm extremely sorry to hear that. Could you at least tell me where the first orphanage you remember was?"

I nod my head and think. I could say anywhere I've been actually. For the first time since I got in that office I decide to tell the littlest bit of the truth,

"Cario, Egypt"

the principal nods and lets me go, telling me I can pick up a uniform in about an hour. Not wanting to walk all the way home just for me to have to walk back, I decide to just sit outside for a while and hang around the school.

"orphan, no last name, no foster parents, last known orphanage in Cario... Egypt?" Reese reads off the paper the principal just wrote on

My jaw drops when I realize he stole that paper.

"that's personal stuff dude what's wrong with you?" I say grabbing the paper out of his hand

"what's wrong with me? What's wrong with you Nailah? You show up out of no where in my city with no information"

"Oh my apologies I didn't know you owned the city" I say while glaring at him

"oh whatever your not worth my time" he says while shoving past me

I shake my head and mutter "unbelievable" while ripping up the paper and throwing it in the garbage. At least when they come looking there'll be no evidence that I was ever here.
Thank you and fuck you Reese. Not feeling like going back into the school with the chance of seeing him again i just go back to the shelter. I put in a few hours and let my mind forget about the troubling in counter I had just earlier today.
