(A/N: Over 6K! I'm actually freaking out. It makes me so happy to see a considerable amount of people are enjoying my crappy writing and sloppy plot. I literally can't believe ever since I hit 1K I've gained another 1K every week. Thank you all so much, and I hope this book continues to grow! Both in writing and reads!)
Midoriya's P.O.V.
It was finally time to go. To say I wasn't nervous would be a complete lie, I was terrified of what we were doing. I barely had any experience.
We had all hopped in the car, Todoroki driving and Bakugou in the passenger seat. I was in the back. I was spiraling myself further and further just think what could go wrong and what probably will go wrong.
While at home, Todoroki and Kacchan had briefed me on the plan and how we were going to execute it and why I was needed.
I was supposed to keep a lookout in a van parked a little while away, checking the cameras in the facility. Iida was going to hack into them so I could watch them and make sure everything went smooth.
I was sort of relieved when they told that was all I would be doing, but my anxiety was very much still through the roof. I was the one responsible for making sure nothing came at them from a blindside.
The reason I would have to do this is quite a simple one. To execute the plan, they needed everyone they could get. That meant no one wasted in watching cameras.
We were meeting up a place about a mile away from the actual facility to set up the van with cameras. Kacchan had informed us Iida was currently setting things up and working on hacking in.
Every ten minutes that went by my anxiety went up ten percent. I was literally nervously shaking when Todoroki said we were five minutes away.
I wasn't even the one entering the dangerous building! I was the one in the least amount of danger. I know they've all probably done this before a million times, but I can't help but feel they were extremely nervous too. They were just better at hiding it.
Five minutes fly by, and before I know it, we're at the location. A few other cars along with the van I was going to be using is parked along the side of a shady-looking street.
I follow closely behind Kacchan and Todoroki as we approach the group. There were more people there than there were at the meeting I was at. I'm guessing they could use all the help they could get.
We walk up to Iida and Uraraka who was setting up the van and technology stuff. Don't expect me to know the names of things; I was awful with that kind of things.
"Okay, Midoriya. You ready for me to show you how this stuff works?" Iida breaks my train of thought.
"Oh, um, sure." I reply and walk closer to him.
Iida shows me how to switch to different cameras and other technological hacking stuff that I still don't know the fancy terms for.
Once he makes sure I know how to do all of it, he hands me a headset to communicate with them. All of the people who were infiltrating the complex would be wearing one.
I knew how a headset worked, so Iida didn't have to explain that to me.
I quickly sat down in the front seat of the van, taking a deep breath. I can do this. It's going to go perfectly, with no complications.
All the other Mafia members get in their respective cars and head out to the actual complex. I say a quick bye to Todoroki and Kacchan before they head off and I turn on my headset.
I sigh once again and crack my knuckles in anxiousness. This is the easiest job they could've gave anyone, it would probably take a lot for me to mess it up.
I switch between the different cameras in the complex and see the team of people entering through a side window.
I switch to a camera that was hung in the corner of a room, panning out across the whole room and showing some sort of weird tanks with creatures in them.
I furrow my eyebrows. That did not look right.
I decided to inform the team about it, in case they didn't know about. I quickly look at their location and the room to see how they would get there.
"Hey team, there's a room a left, a right, two lefts and another right from where you are that's holding some sort of weird creature. Thought it might be worth mentioning. Over."
Iida had also briefed me on some radio terms to use so they don't get confused if I'm done talking or anything like that.
"I hear you Midoriya. We're heading over there now. Out." I recognize it as Tsu's voice.
I continue to switch between different cameras every few minutes, mainly focusing on the ones around the hallways the team was walking.
It had been about fifteen minutes of walking and exploring the place and I was feeling pretty confident. The team was almost at the strange room, probably about five minutes away since they were being slow and quiet.
I switch through all the cameras and see absolutely nothing else. It was reassuring, but at the same time worrying. I felt like there should've been more. Then again, I wasn't exactly an expert and anything.
I can feel a breeze of wind ruffle my unruly hair. I had rolled down the van window because of how hot it had gotten.
Realizing this probably isn't a good idea, I turn sideways to roll it back up when I pause my movements. A pattern of footsteps carry out through the alleyway and I freeze.
Some sort of weird dart shoots through the air and before I can react it hits me straight in the neck.
I sway and lean back against the van seat, my vision becoming blurry and eyes drooping.
I see a group of people approaching the van I was in as I can't help my closing my eyes.
I knew it was probably going all too perfect.
