You were just finishing the sushi Kida had recommended you when you felt a sudden vibration in your pocket. You swiftly took the phone out and peeked at its screen to see one new message displaying on it. A displeased grimace appeared on your face as you read the name of the sender. What did Shingen want from you? Ignoring the curious look of your new friends, you opened the message to see just a few words.

"I left you a little gift at Izaya's place".

You sighed, not at all curious about what the gift was. Still, if it was a message from Shingen, you knew it was probably something important. You realised you should probably get going.

You stood up and smiled at the three students politely.

"Thanks for showing me some good dishes," you said. "I should go back to my work".

After paying for the food, you left the bar and headed towards Izaya's apartment. The streets were still crowded but the blazing sun was able to get rid of some less endurable people. As you were passing by one of the back alleys, you suddenly heard a loud slam. You turned your head towards the source of the noise. Through a dark plume of smoke, you could see a single man leaning on a wall. He was holding his arm, from which a spout of blood was flowing. Next to him was lying a crushed vending machine. As the smoke attenuated, you could see the face of the wounded man. You widened your eyes, seeing it was the same man who had once visited Shinra to have his chest dressed.

"Shizuo-san?," you said and the blond man turned his enraged face to you.

"[Name]?," he replied and tightened his grip on the wound.

You ran up to him and grasped his arm.

"What happened? It looks like a cut. And this vending machine," you pointed at the wreckage.

"A client had a knife. I wanted to target him with this but he dodged. And ran away," he didn't sound hurt. Did he even feel pain? The wound was deep, it needed an immediate sewing.

"You should go to the hospital," you said.

"Waste of time," he replied briskly.

"It will get infected otherwise. And Shinra's place is too far from here. Come with me," you said while bandaging the wound. You always had the basic tools with you. You've had this habit since forever.

"Where?," the man asked.

"To my work".
