Chapter 4: I have to use *it*

Previously on, I Can Possess People?
A truck was swaying left and right and Adam is aware that the driver is unconscious, but there is an even bigger problem.
"This is not good..." A boy got his foot stuck in a hole at the road due to faulty construction.

Now back to the present....

"Get out of the way!" A stranger said to me.
"No! You get out of the way, that boy needs help!" I said to him angrily but it was of no use, and his subordinates pushed me out of the way making me land at the sidewalk again, I was now far away from him, It's too late.

"Heh, just watch kid, this is real life and those traitors get what they deserve.." The man chuckles and pushes my right shoulder.
'Did the kid's parents be involved in some kind of crime syndicate!!??' I was baffled, but I quickly looked around for his parents.

'Where is his parents?!!' I felt uneasy, not only was the kid going to be hurt, these thugs won't do anything about it, 'These f*ckers', I resent these guys and the crows beside me came closer to see what's going on.
But I see only a few passerby's seeing the boy stuck on the road, a few of them were beside me talking.
"I can't watch this" Female 1 said
"Holy hell, I guess that younglings gonna die!" Male 1 said
"Please someone save him!" Female 2 said
"Who left him alone?" Male 2 said
"Hey! Do you guys here a siren?" Male 3 said

The boy starts to cry, his wails echo in the ears of everyone, the last statement of the person was true as I could hear the sirens.

The police approaches planning to arrest the law-breaker, but they would be too late as they are still a mile away to close the distance.

All these noises entered my head, it was truly a stressful situation... and that's when my disorder kicks in, and my perception of time slows down.
'Even if I get there, it requires time, I just need time, but that truck in less than 10 seconds is going to kill that boy'
'If I run there I would arrive 8 seconds, if I grab the boy forcefully his leg would never get unstuck even if I thought forcefully pulling it would even resulting to shredding his skin, but that would never happen because the boy will surely fight back and cause scratches on me'

'I am not immune to the pain, so I would never get through it on time, that boy would hinder my pace, no offense'

I look at the scenery again, I see the crowd, most of the women and young teenagers hiding their faces, and some people who were curious on what would happen, faces filled with anticipation and I knew that only I could do this, because everyone else was a lost cause.

'I have reached my answer...and it's not the best one if I had to say but it was the only one' I recall the consequences of doing this, but I am willing to do this to save this kid's life.

'It doesn't matter if we never met before, if I can save someone's life I'm willing to risk something less of that....besides the consequences won't be that bad....right?'

The crows voices started emitting inaudible sounds, the truck starts moving a little further and the kid's wails can be heard in a prolonging manner, because Adam's perception towards time starts to slowly accelerate, Adam turns his gaze towards the truck, putting his blue bag in front of his chest and then glares intently at the driver.

Adam glares at the driver, and something extraordinary happens. Adam's eyes shined like crimson yellow, and his vision went completely black, and Adam's body collapses in front of the crowd.

'I see an endless darkness, until I felt pain on my forehead and at my neck'
"Ow!" I see myself in a truck, and in front of me was the kid.
I see my sweaty hands, the feeling of a liquid on my face, it was drool.
'I possessed the driver's body' I was shocked because it has been a long, I mean a really long time since I last possessed someone.

Possession is the ability of Adam given by his father. Any human being that appears within his eyesight can be possessed, and the target would be unconscious the whole time. Although Adam was given this ability through the experiments of his father, there are downsides to this ability, as his own body is left in a shell(empty) like state, that's the main reason he placed his blue bag on his chest to soften his own body's fall. He looked at his body, it was of an old man and his jerseys still had gravy and his blue shirt smelled of liquor.

'One word, disgusting!' Adam cannot express how much he wanted to leave the body immediately but he regains focus.

Adam quickly pressed on the brakes, and turned the wheel to the right, people were there but Adam deduces that it was plenty of time for them to escape, and he was right all the people fled when they saw the truck coming towards them.

'Okay, time for me to leave this body', Adam' vision went completely black and feels great pain on his forehead.

"OWW" He opens his eyes and felt that a hand was pounding at his chest, Adam could feel the intense force those hands had done to his unconscious body.

"WOAH! What are you doing?" I quickly slapped the man's hands, the man's expression changes as he realizes I was awake.

The man was wearing a red coat, a blue shirt and black pants, his eyes was completely black but his smile was as bright as the sun.

"Ah...young man it's good you survived, we saw you fall earlier and when we checked up on you your heart completely stopped, it's a good thing you survived" The man maintains his smile.

"Ah... I am fine thanks for helping but I must be on my way" and then Adam hears murmurs around him.

"What is wrong with this young man, not even giving a proper thank you to his savior, hmph!" Female 2
"Oh it's good that the truck didn't hit that young boy, oh thank god" Female 1
"Woah, that fella's lucky as his luck was like finding a needle in a haystack!" Male 1
"Well don't just stand there, let's help the young boy and forget this ungrateful wench." Male 2
"Now, now, everyone-" my savior speaks he was the one who heard the police siren and mentioned it in front of everyone, "-this young boy just had a heart attack, so lets all just understand him for now, by the way young boy we checked your wallet and called your parents and they-"

'WHAT??? They called Luis are they insane?? I can only imagine the number of cars arriving here in any second'

That's what exactly happened as 3 black cars quickly arrive and dozens of men in black suits arrive, wearing shades, and intimidating glares.

The crowd surrounding me backed away, surprisingly my alleged savior stayed at arm's length and when the men almost got to me.
"Are you acquainted with this young man?", said the alleged savior.
"Yes we were hired to bring the young master"
"Well as you can see he is still recovering from the shock, oh by the way my name is Drake Glimpse and you are??"
"You can call me Ion, I see so you saved young master, then you can come with us I am sure his father would be proud to welcome you and give you a reward"
"Oh I would love to come with you but as you can see I am a very busy man, I still have patients that I need to help"
"I see you are a doctor, Doctor Glimpse, well I will contact you as soon as you have free time, may you please give us your contact number"
"Sure" A white paper appears, and he gives it to Ion.
Adam stares at these two men talking, the reason he was only staring was because his ability has another price, he would be slightly deaf and his vision would be slightly blurry and those were its aftereffects, if possess is continuously used the intensity of the deafness and blindness will not increase. It will wear off after 24 hours and those after-effects apply only to his main body.

'I can't hear a damn thing, but I did hear about 'young master', Ion, Drake, Doctors and Contact', Adam sadly couldn't hear anything

Adam felt a hand grabbing him and see several black silhouettes surround him,
"Hey who are you guys!" I scream not because I am scared but I can't hear my own voice.

"Young --- this----car" Adam could only hear inaudible sounds.
"I'm sorry I can't hear you! Speak a little louder" Instead of hearing the agent's voice again, they quickly grabbed Adam's hand and dragged him inside the black car.

"Sorry, my eyesight is a little blurry"
"It's fine, young----" said the agent.

Adam was contemplating on whether to possess the agent's body just to see the view of his surroundings, but that would mean restarting the timer again and it had already passed by 15 minutes!
Adam decided in the end to not possess anyone until the after-effects becomes null.

Adam felt the car come to a halt, but he figured it was because of traffic, and he is so wrong.

"We have arrived sir Adam" said the agent but Adam did not hear it so his eyes were still closed.
"WE HAVE ARRIVED SIR ADAM!!",  Adam woke up and got frightened as his vision was blurry.

'WTF? I CAN'T SEE WELL, AM I BLIND??'
