I don't hate the water, but I've never been one to want to go swimming. I go swimming all of 3-5 times a year maximum. I'm borderline hydrophobic.

But the image of water that I'm comfortable with is being completely and totally enveloped in water. I love being in deep water, knowing that I can't touch/see the bottom, and I love to be completely submersed. Why am I so fond of this feeling?

Because I know how deadly it can be.

I don't know why I have this fascination with the deadly, but I feel it's danger and mystery are something so beautifully combined, it cannot be ignored.

Just imagine it; The warmth of the water surrounding you, and you're floating there completely immersed earth's version of outer space. You're weightless, silent, breathless, isolated. No one to tell you who you are or what you've done wrong. You can chose to stay there, or you could chose to resurface. You could chose it as your place of eternal rest, or your place for adventure. You can fall in, or you could jump. You can even walk in, or step if you please.

If I am to die, dying in the water would be the way I want to go. To die while facing a fear, but being comforted by the smooth fluidity of something pure.
