If I could tell her

🏳️‍🌈 Glimmer's Pov 🏳️‍🌈

I finally walk into school. I check my watch. I'm about 20 minutes late. I sigh. I walk to my locker and drop my bag into it. Then I head to my first hour, the only class I have with Adora. At the thought of seeing her, I realize I didn't really have time to brush my hair this morning. I slow my pace as I try to fix it with my hands, but I can still feel it sticking up every where. "Ughh" I say quietly to myself.
Finally I show up to my first hour Math class. The first person I see when I walk in is Adora. She looks bored until she looks up. Her face lights up with a smile as she notices me. I try my best not to blush as I give her a friendly wave. Then I see Bow who is too focused on his assignment to realize I'm here. I walk up to my teacher's desk. "Hello Glimmer." She says. "Hi Mrs.Spinerella." I say. "Do you have a pass today?" She asks me. Oof. "No, I accidentally over slept." I explain. "This should be your third tardy, but I'll let it slide this once if you try not to let it happen again." She gives me a serious look. "Ok, thank you." I say gratefully. I grab the daily assignment as I head to my seat and plop down with a sigh. It had already been a long day.
I fiddle with the end of my mechanical pencil. I'm not really in the mood to do math right now. My gaze drifts across the room to Adora. She's staring at the wall, clearly not focused on the assignment either. I sigh as I remember my dream. She turns her head and looks at me. When she realizes I'm looking at her she smiles then makes a funny face. I try not to laugh out loud. I make a funny face back, and I can tell she wants to laugh. We keep going back and forth making dumb faces and bad silent jokes across the room until the teacher gets onto us. We both look back down at our desks. I'm still smiling. We're so stupid.
After a while the bell rings signaling the end of first hour. I pack up my stuff, and catch up with Bow and Adora. "Hey Glimmer!" Says Bow, with a bright smile. " Why were you so late? I thought me and Adora were going to be lonely at lunch today!" He reprimands me, but it's in a sarcastic friendly way. "Oh she probably just overslept again." Adora says giving me a playful nudge in the arm. "What no I didn't.....yeah I overslept." I admit. We all laugh. "At least Mrs.Spinerella gave you a pass." Bow says. "That's true." I agree. "Well, this is our class, see you later." Bow says turning into the history classroom. "See you at lunch Glimmer!" Adora says, waving to me as she disappears into the same classroom as Bow. "Yeah, bye Adora!" I give a small wave, but she didn't see. If only I could tell her I like her. I begin walking to my second class, still thinking about Adora. When I notice a new poster on the school wall. In big blue letters it says Winter Homecoming dance! This Friday! Buy tickets now!! Hmmm, homecoming huh? I've never really considered going to a school dance. Until now. This could be a perfect excuse to tell Adora how I feel.
