As stated before, I CLAIM NO RIGHTS TO THE OTHER BOOK. I am simply continuing a story that I think deserves a sequel. Aside from that, please enjoy. This is also just a small piece before I spend a ton of time on this.

Percy stood in front of the burning ruins that was Wayne Manor. His eyes were blank, broken...as they had been before he met Bruce. Blackjack whinnied and pawed at the ground.

I'm sorry, boss, he said. I couldn't get there fast enough.

"It's alright, Blackjack," Percy said, numbness spreading through his body. Tears started flowing down his cheeks. After everything, after Gaea, after seeing Annabeth and his friends die, he still couldn't save the little family he had left. He had failed. Again. Bruce's voice whispered in the back of his mind.

It isn't your fault, Percy. I had to.

"Come on Zeus!" he yelled at the sky. "Do you enjoy killing everything I love?"

The sky remained silent. It seemed as if the gods didn't want to answer him. They were as surprised as he was. Why did the fates have to be so cruel?

News reporters surrounded the gates, which somehow remained unharmed. He slipped off Blackjack's back and walked among the ruins of Wayne manor. A piece of curtain here, a shattered plate there. Nothing could have survived that blast. The charges must have been set inside the walls and under the floor. So, at a moments notice, everything could be obliterated.

But Percy remembered something through the numbness and the pain. The Batcave was deep underground, in a natural cave. Wayne manor was destroyed. Not underneath. There was still hope that they could have survived, even though he knew that it was unlikely they made it down there before Wayne Manor blew.

Percy climbed through the wreckage, searching for the entrance to the cave...but he didn't find any of the multiple entrances. They were blocked off by rubble. But he knew that at least one way remained, and it was through his home territory.

Underwater.
