The questioning gaze remained on my mother's face but I gave her no chances of asking me about the heavy punishment that I have given to her servant. I still continued to smile innocently in front of her. But I know, this woman is a smart woman, and she might have hinted that something must be wrong with the tea.
"Mother, Yun'er specially prepared and cooked these food for you. It has been so long since we had breakfast together. These foods were created with extremely rare spices and I've put enough effort to gather the rest of the ingredients myself. I hope mother likes these and give me her permission so I can cook for her everyday."
"Everyone's dismissed!" My mother wasted no effort to dismiss her servants.
"Mother drink this tea, it will replenish your body and get rid of unnecessary nutrients--"
"Yun'er, how did you know about the poisoning?" My mother asked me
But before I could answer I felt someone else's presence inside her room. So someone must be spying on us. I signalled my mother to change the topic as I slowly pulled a sword that was neatly piled on the sword shelf inside this room. I didn't even know if I should laugh or cry, just because I don't know the real purpose of having a sword collection inside my mom's chamber.
I feel like cat woman, sneaking at my mom's room. The energy fluctuations is hard to deny. So I slowly followed where the energy is denser and evidently landed a heavy blow. Damaging a few important antiques. Then the assassin's head flew as his body knocked the place where he's hiding.
"Empress!--" one of the servants shouted
"No one is allowed to come in without my orders" my mother spoke coldly
I carefully used my gloves and checked the assassin's body, wanting to find a clue about his identity or who sent him. But I only found an insignia. I cut that portion of his clothes and eventually saw the same insignia on his body.
My face turned cold.
I walked to my mother.
"Mother, do you have any idea about this insignia?"
My mother's eyes turned colder.
"She must be impatient to kill me, Yun'er let's eat first before we deal with them"
"How's the food?"
"You can cook for me everyday!" Was my mom's response as we ate like there's no dead body in the room nor the smell of metallic blood that fills the air.
