Chapter 9 : Hiking Gone Wrong

Graser's POV

The next morning...

"Get up, y'all. We goin' hiking." Someone said, waking me up. Of course it was Emmy, standing at the end of the bed. "What?" I asked. "You heard me. Everyone wants to go hiking so let's go." She said. Again, Stacy just looked at me like 'really?' "Don't look at each other like that. Just get up and c'mon. It'll be worth it." She smirked and walked away. "Do we trust her?" Stacy asked, groggily. "I guess." I said with a sigh. "Actually... no. I know where they're going. They're going to Red River Gorge in the mountains about an hour away. I say we continue to sleep and get up when we want, and me and you can go hiking later." I added, Stacy smiled, faintly. "I like that idea. A lot more." She replied. "Get up!" Emmy yelled.

I think Emmy is ruining Stacy's future plans of having kids cause Stacy sure is very annoyed by Emmy. "No! We're not going!" I replied. "Why?" She asked. "Cause I freaking said so. Me and Stacy are exhausted from these past few days, us two will go hiking by ourselves when we are not exhausted and actually are ready to go." I said. "Well.. fine. Bye." She replied and went outside. "She's a brat sometimes." I said. "Yeah, I see that." Stacy replied.

We cuddled up with each other again and fell asleep once more, we didn't get up until one o'clock in the afternoon. "Want anything for breakfast?" I asked. "No cause there's probably nothing in here that's gluten free." Stacy replied. "Hm, true. Well... do you want some- nope. Can't have that. Um... do you want..."

Finding something for Stacy to eat was much harder than I thought.

"Just forget it. I'll survive." She said.

That was kinda a relief for me as I knew there was nothing for her to eat that wasn't much work to make.

"How about we just go out to eat after we go hiking?" I asked. "That's fine." She answered, leaning on the table. She almost sounded sad about something. "Are you ok?" I asked. "Yeah, why?" "You sound sad." I answered, sitting next to her. "I'm fine, still just tired." She replied. "I don't think there's anything planned for tomorrow so hopefully we can really get some sleep without being interrupted." "It'd be nice if you could tell Emmy not to wake us up." She said, rolling her eyes. "I will, believe me." "She's a nice kid and all but geez, just a tad annoying." "I know. I know that very well."

We mostly just talked, neither of us ate anything. Nor did we really eat anything yesterday other than snacks cause that's what you eat on a road trip. At around two o'clock, we got dressed and decided to go hiking. We got in the car and drove to where everyone else supposedly went. By the time we got there, everyone else had already headed back to the campground but me and Stacy continued on through the mountains.

Finally we reached the road that leads to the trail, but the road was very twisty and turn-y, steep, and it wasn't paved. It was literally a gravel road on the side of a one thousand foot high mountain. And the road was three miles long.

"Are we there yet?! I'm getting car sick!" Stacy said. "I think we're almost there. Just please don't throw up." "I might if this doesn't come to an end soon!"

Finally, it did come to an end. There was a small parking lot with only one other car which had a trailer hooked up to it who I assumed was the driver was sitting at a nearby table... by himself... it seemed sketchy.

"Why is this dude here by himself?" I thought out loud. "Hm, I don't know. Maybe he isn't by himself. Maybe he's with someone else who we just don't see." Stacy replied, getting out of the car. Then I was very suspicious when the guy looked over at Stacy and had this evil-looking grin on his face. I quickly got out the car and went behind the car, I looked over at Stacy who was obviously oblivious to the fact this guy was looking like he wanted to do something with her. I just had a gut feeling that this guy was up to no good, and Stacy was his current target.
