You knew that becoming a hero wasn't easy, but you didn't even think that you would go through half the things you did as just a student. You had been put under multiple near death situations, as well as your other classmates, and you weren't even that surprised when U.A. decided to implement a dormitory to ensure everyone's safety.
First, there was the USJ Villain Attack. That was the event that set off major alarms, like "wow, I truly could have died that day if I wasn't more careful!", "oh god, were villains always this full of bullshit?", and many more. It was truly frightening to be put under such an intense situation with so many lives on the line. And the thing that was a modified human with a brain fully displayed to the world? Not cool, you had thought.
Then, there was the summer training camp and everything following it. As helpful and torturous it was, it was indisputably the most dangerous and traumatic experience in your life. You didn't even know if you could ever view a forest the same way ever again.
However, what took the cake was the impromptu mission to retrieve your ex-boyfriend from the hands of the villains that attacked you in the first place.
"Hey, your hair is down again!" you had pointed out, fidgeting with the tattered cowboy hat on your head. The boots on your feet scuffed the ground as you walked up to your best friend. "Just like in junior high." you chuckled, ruffling his red hair, careful to avoid the detachable horns from his head.
Eijirou rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Yeah, I guess so." he agreed with a downcast aura.
"But the difference is how you've grown and matured," you reminded him, and flicked him on the nose, causing him to yelp out in pain. "You've changed a lot, Ei, and not just in your appearance." you mentioned while smiling fondly at him.
He stared at you with the familiar awestruck expression before his face broke out into a beaming grin. "Thanks, [Name]! But I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you."
This time, you were surprised, but you didn't show it. Instead, you ruffled his bright locks again with another soft and serene smile.
"Those two sure are friendly," someone commented, looking at his two classmates from a few feet away. He tugged on the black wig on his head. "Are they... dating?" his mismatched eyes squinted, as if he was trying to recall the action.
Another piped up with a shake of his head. "I don't think they are, Todoroki. [Name] moved away from the Shizuoka Prefecture and into Chiba, where Kirishima is from. They must have been close during junior high school, too!" the green haired boy deducted.
"Ah, that's right. You, Bakugou, and [Surname] are childhood friends," the taller of the two recalled. "But I don't see why those two aren't dating since they clearly like each other." he deadpanned. Since he was commonly known as someone who was emotionally ignorant and confused, it was a bit ridiculous that even he was suspicious.
"Actually, the only person [Name]'s ever dated was—"
"—call me [Name], Todoroki!" you chimed in, effectively cutting off Izuku. "And who aren't dating yet?" you asked curiously with your red haired friend's hand in yours. You were aware of what it could have looked like to anyone, but you quite frankly didn't care.
Todoroki looked pointedly at your conjoined hands. "You and—"
"—we should really be focusing on the mission, you guys!" Izuku exclaimed loudly, interrupting his stoic friend. His frantic expression grew solemn and serious. "We don't know what those villains could be doing to Kacchan..." his voice grew quiet. Next to him, Yaoyorozu and Iida nodded their heads.
With a determined face, you nodded. "Katsuki may be my ex-boyfriend, but that isn't going to stop me!" you cheered with a fist raised to the sky.
It was silent before all but one of questioned, "Bakugou was your ex-boyfriend!?"
After that fiasco, you were positioned several feet away from the captured blond and villains. You let out a batch of crow-like shrieks, flying up into the sky haphazardly to circle around the area. "Hey, hey! I found them, heroes!" Some of the people below got distracted by the bird that revealed their location— a talking bird, no less.
You glided high into the air, following the slanted pillar of ice that erupted from the sidelines. "COME!" one of the few people Katsuki considered an equal screamed only moments later, holding out his hand. The wind whistled in your ears as you flew next to the soaring trio, small black wings flapping. Your sharp, beady eyes looked down at the ground, and felt a burst of euphoria when you saw a booming explosion followed by a humongous cloud of smoke and a blur of a body.
"Are you stupid or something?" Katsuki questioned with a wide grin, no doubt feeling more relieved than anyone else there.
"Stupid enough to get you!" you croaked back with watery [e/c] eyes. Teardrops disappeared into the heavens, while you hovered in the air next to your four friends. "Welcome back, Katsuki." The male stared at you with indecipherable emotions before averting his gaze, clicking his tongue.
"Bakugou, on my mark, create a blast—"
"You match my mark!" the hothead interrupted Iida with a shout.
"Don't fight at a time like this!" you and Eijirou both exclaimed in unison.
You looked back just in time to see a masked figure soaring through the air. Your eyes widen as Mr. Compress was literally only a few seconds away from crashing into you. "Woah, woah, woah!" you cried out, having enough wits to transform right then and there. Instead of slamming into a weak crow, the villain collided with a fully grown elephant. You both groaned upon impact and felt a painful headache come in.
"[Name]!" the two people held closest to your heart yelled out. Their matching red eyes grew wide with panic and distress when you unexpectedly de-transformed and plummet down to the ground.
"Shit..!" you mumbled, feeling the cold air scratch against your skin. You were too dizzy and disorientated to shift into another flying animal. "At least I got to see you one last time..." you whispered into the wind with a faint smile, seeing black spots so close to your eyes.
"[NAME]!" you heard your best friend harshly screech into the night. "NO!"
"Titan Cliff!" was the last thing you heard before you had succumbed to the darkness that tauntingly danced around in your vision.
