My Friend Liv

Chapter 11

***** A few days later*****

It was Tuesday evening. Ryley had just come home from work. She had a rough day so she decided to immediately take a shower and relax for the rest of the night. As soon as she got out the shower she heard a knock at the door. She had no idea who it could be, but she didn't really feel like being bothered right now.

She took her time putting put on a t-shirt and some shorts before going to see who it was.

The person started to knock again as Ryley approached the door.

She opened the door slowly and there stood Liv

"Hi" Liv said softly with her head down afraid to make eye contact with Ryley

"Babe!" Ryley said pulling her into a hug. "I'm so glad you're ok. I was sooooooooo worried"

Liv wrapped her arms around Ryley but she barely hugged her back. Ryley pulled Liv into the apartment and shut the door. They both sat on the couch

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah" Liv said with tears in her eyes

Ryley grabbed her hands

"Babe, I..." Ryley trailed off. She didn't want to pry or ask questions if Liv wasn't ready to talk, but she still wanted to know.

"When I saw you there, I ..." Ryley drifted off again

Ryley was now holding back tears at this point. She let go of Liv's hand and pulled her in for a hug. She didn't want to let Liv see her cry.

"I'm sorry" Liv said while hugging Ryley

"Sorry? No. Don't be sorry. I'm sorry" Ryley said pulling apart from the hug. "I should have been looking out for you better"

There was a long pause

"Babe, why were u there. Who were those people?"

"Friends" Liv said trying not to look at Ryley

"Continue"

"They were Ashley's friends"

"Well where was Ashley?"

"She pulled out at the last minute"

"Well, that was shitty"

"I um... I didn't think it would be that big of a deal to go out with them alone... even though they were older. I know that was dumb. I should have stayed home, but we had all hung out before. I thought it would be fine"

"No, you're not dumb babe. You were just trying to have fun"

"I guess. Thanks for taking care of me though. I know I was in and out of it, but my parents told me you were at the hospital"

"Anytime"

Liv snuggled up next to Ryley and put her head on her shoulder

"My parents are never going to trust me again" Liv said quietly

"They can't run your life forever. You'll be out of their house soon"

"Yeah, maybe"

Liv laid her head in Ryley's lap and Ryley started stroking her hair

"What's wrong love?"

"Ashley....."

"Yeah, what about her?"

"We're not together anymore"

"What happened ?"

"Well... when she didn't come out that night....she was with someone else.... A guy"

Ryley moved so that she was laying behind Liv on the couch now hugging her tight.

"I'm so sorry. Are you ok?"

"I am now" Liv said

Hearing this made Ryley smile and she pulled Liv closer

They laid in silence for a little while. Finally, Ryley decided to speak

"I wish we could stay here all day, but we should get up" Ryley laughed

"You're right" Liv said giggling

"You don't have to leave though. I mean, I don't want you to leave"

Liv smiled "Ok. What should we do then"

"Mmmmmmm... We could play Mario Kart on the switch!"

"Ok!"

The two played for hours! Surprisingly Liv ended up beating Ryley in almost every game

"Well, I didn't see that coming!" Ryley said

"That was fun!" Liv said jumping into Ryley's lap

"I'm glad you enjoyed beating me" Ryley said laughing

Ryley loved seeing Liv happy. It was the exact opposite of how she was earlier. It made her feel great

Ryley put her hand on Liv's lower back and leaned up to kiss her. She didn't care about what they were at this point. The mood overtook her and she couldn't resist kissing her.

Liv kissed back of course. She was blushing when the kiss broke.

"You're beautiful" Ryley said

"So are you" Liv said back

"One more game?"

"Let's do it"

Today was great!! I finally heard back from Liv. She's doing so much better and I'm glad. I was so worried about her, but I wanted to give her space to recover. Plus I figured her parents would be monitoring her every move for a while. They probably wouldn't encourage her to text me or come visit me even though they don't know the full story. But anyway... she came and visited me today and we had a great time! We talked and played Mario Kart.

She didn't stay the night which was probably for the best right now. I also kissed her while we were on the couch. I know I probably shouldn't have, but we were both having fun and I missed her so much. She really means a lot to me. She's so adorable. I like to make her happy. She was so sad when she came, but she was much better by the time she left. I hope this doesn't complicate things.
