My body awoke with a stir. The gods were not allowing me to get the rest I needed to accomplish the task they have blessed upon me, taking care of this new and strange woman. I sat up and poked at the fire, my eyes finding their way over Freyas body. She was as  plenty a fit as most of the women back home, if not more. Her figure was truly a sight to see, even clothed. I stir from my thoughts, scanning her tattoo before placing my gaze upon my own. The work her people did was far better than that of my own. Her clothing is like nothing I had seen before and the same for the stones that were encased in gold.

Gold was only for elite members, and she has it littered everywhere on her body. I could tell that the words she spoke were the truth. No one from my time would look so ridiculous, yet so wealthy. She was truly from the future.  I sigh quietly, getting to my feet. I grab my spear and slipping my feet into the water and ready my spear.  After a few minutes, I grab the fish I caught and began to prepare the food. Once I finished I placed the fish on the fire. Her eyes fluttering open at the smell. I through a few wild herbs onto the fish.

"That smells amazing!" I foreign words escaped her lips. I watched as she waved the smell into her nose. I smile proudly. She must like the smell. She realized I was staring at her and her face turned red from embarrassment. I found the subconscious gesture enduring.  I returned my attention to the fish.

"Where are we going?" She asked while I took the fish off the fire and onto a flat rock.

"We are going to get you dowry." I replied as I hand her one of the fish.

"Why?" When I looked at her, her eyes were a panic.

"You need to buy things to fit in." I sigh not wanting to say it, but knowing it needs to be said.  "The people of my time are not like yours. I need to b able to protect you and the only way I know how to do that is to marry you."

"Marry? What the hell! NO!" She shrieked.

I strode over to her, picking her up by her shirt. " If you think I am dangerous, then maybe I shall leave you here alone so Torvalds men can have their disgusting way with you, the pigs." I gently place her on her feet.

"The Torvald Clan?" She asked shocked.

"Aye," I raised an eye brow. "You have studied them I must guess?"

"Of course! You're the Frey Clan! Why hadn't I noticed this before? Alvar, the Torvald Clan plotted against your clan and killed you all."

"I know the Torvald and Frey clan have do not exist peacefully, but I don't believe this. Are you sure?"

"Yes! Amund suggested that you go through the rock passage thinking they would be caught by surprise, but when you got there you're men were attacked. Only one man made it out alive." She babbled for a long while, struggling to spill out the words in her broken language that we communicate in. I lost a few words, but the message was clear. A war was going to occur. If I doubted her earlier, I do not now. I had not mentioned anyone in the Clan, let alone my own  father.

"We must go. We need to get your dowry. I know you do not wish it, but you must trust me. I am the Earl, the next King, which ever title you choose to use. I am the only one with enough power to command them to keep you safe and unharmed. Do you trust me?"

"Yes, I do. I have to, but if you ever touch me like that again, I will cut your hands off." She spoke fiercely. I sigh with an odd arousal. That is the fire I like in women.

We walked for a short while. I stopped her just out of the village as I went to fetch my horse. Once I returned I placed her in front of my saddle. With horseback we made it to the next town just as nightfall reached us. I paid for a stall and room for the night. I left her to our room as I went to buy us meat for dinner. She was cleaning so calmly, I found it almost relaxing to watch her take the broom and sweet so swiftly.

"Hey. Your back." She said sweetly. I left my thoughts.

"Yes. I think we should go get you a dress tomorrow. Everyone was starring at you when we went through town. We will sell your jewelry."

She only nodded in agreement. Since I asked for her trust by the bank, she seemed to understand that I knew better than she. She knows now that I am her source of life in this world. Until she goes back to her time. I placed the meat in a small pot. I let the meat cook plain. I wasn't for flavor today. I was tired from the lack of sleep and I needed rest.  Once the meat was finished, I handed her meat and ate mine in the chair in the corner of the room.

I woke up from the sound of a loud thud.  My eyes were darting across the room furiously, landing on the beautiful women preparing her clothes. "How long have you been awake?" I asked her curious.

"Since the sunrise."

"How long ago was that?"

"Not long. Can we go run our chores?"

I look at her, rubbing my chin. " Why are  you so eager to go? You've been fighting me all day yesterday."

"I just realize that you know what you are doing. I'm ready to get back home and I guess that means following your orders. So I will be more willing...when I feel it justified."

"I see." I smile at her. She seems to surprise me a lot. I stand, wrapping my arms around her and pull her into a warm embrace. "I am sorry for how I've been treating you. Please forgive me." I pull away just enough to look into her eyes. Her breath stalls.

"I...I..yes. I forgive you." She lets out a grunt as I hug her tighter. She was an interesting woman. I was fascinated with her. She peaked my interest more than any woman I have ever met. I knew I felt something for her, but what it was I knew not.

"Can we go?" She asks suddenly.

I laugh. I made her uncomfortable. "Yes. Lets go."
