The class sat in the cold dungeons room that was advanced potions with
Professor Snape, which was dimly light by candles everywhere and the
torches on the wall. It smelt of sage and other strong incenses being
burnt or was that the smell of different potions being brewed,
somewhere in the back room. Snape looked at the classroom and spoke in
his voice that sounded like cold air blowing through a graveyard,
pulling out a clear vile of liquids he held it up for the room to see
" good afternoon class, this is veritaserum, otherwise known as truth
serum it's tasteless, odorless and can be slipped into ones morning
pumpkin juice to be forced to reveal the victims most deepest darkest
secrets. I will be assigning partners. Turn to page 50 for the
ingredients."
he picked the worst students and paired them up and
worked up to the best student in potions. Ron got Neville because
Snape was curious about how good they'd be together. Hermione was
paired with an dark haired Ravenclaw girl and Seamus got Dean, that
only left Draco with Harry. Rising his eyebrows Snape drawled, "Ah,
yes. Let us see potter if you can actually brew a potion without the
aid of Ms. Granger, seeing as Malfoy here is one of my best student I
think you might just make it."
Harry picked up his bag and walked to Draco whose head was resting in
his folded arms on the table, he looked up from under gold white hair
and Harry was reminded of an angry dragon he once fought as he looked
into Draco’s glacier blue eyes. " Potter." Draco said coolly as
possible, Harry noticed his heart beat oddly fast and he didn't
understand why but he managed a calm "hello Malfoy" even though he
felt his breath catch in his throat. 'what's wrong with me? Why's my
heart beating so fast.'
He pulled out his potions book and turned to page 50 and reading aloud
the ingredients "here it is, Veritaserum:
1cup of Sweet Honesty petals
2 drops, tincture of devils snare root
1 Dead Monarch butterfly
2 tsp. Of powdered Horn from the black unicorn...."
Harry read off the ingredients, " hey isn't the use of unicorn suppose
to be illegal?" Harry asked Draco who had gotten up to get the said
ingredients, a mortar, pestle, and a cauldron, "yes potter, unicorn
blood is, but not the horn after it's been shed." Draco sighed as if
he was explaining it to an idiot and that made Harry a bit irritated.
