Rydel and I explored the mall and bought a whole new wardrobe for me until I got a new text message from Lucas.

Can you ask Rydel if I'm allowed to stay the night? My parents are visiting with family and I don't like being alone.

I asked and she said that's okay. Beware tho. We came in a limo and the paparazzi will be crowding us. We're just upstairs so we'll be down in a couple minutes.

We picked up Lucas and headed for the limo. Surprisingly nobody came up to us, unlike when we came in.
"Woah!" Exclaimed Lucas.
"What?" I said.
"This thing in huge!" He said. I've gotten used to the largeness of the vehicle, so I didn't think about how he would react. Rydel's phone buzzed. She picked it up and started to type something. I tried to look over her shoulder but she just turned away.
"Who are you texting?" I asked.
"Riker." She replied.
"What did he say?"
"You'll find out later."

"We're home!" Rydel and I yell at the same time once the door is opened.
"SURPRISE!" All the Lynch's, Ratliff's, Rosie, and her family popped out from everywhere scaring the shit out of me. This is probably what Rydel was texting Riker about.
"Rosie! Your here!" I yelled and ran over to my sister. "I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too!" She replied.
"Do you remember Lucas?" I asked.
"Of corse. You two were best friends."
"Well I found him!" I exclaimed.
"Really?!"
"Yep!" I said.
"Well I want to catch up with you, but I know how much you missed Lucas." Rosie said.
"Are you sure?"
"Of corse. Ooh! I need to tell you that I got a phone!" She said excitedly.
"That's great! I'll need your number so we can text!" I said as I got out my phone and opens up my contacts.
She punched her number in and sent herself a text.

Hey! It's Raleigh!
From: Rosie
------------------------------------------ "Okay! All done!" She said and walked off to talk to someone else. With that done, I walked over to Lucas who was just standing there awkwardly.
"Hey!" I said.
"Hi." Lucas replied quietly.
"Why so shy all the sudden?" I asked.
"Because." He said stubbornly.
"Because why?"
"Because I feel awkward. I'm different. I'm a 16 year old boy who has an Australian accent and doesn't know anybody at his best friend's party except for her sister." he admitted.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Here, let's go upstairs where you won't feel as awkward and we can catch up better." I suggested pulling at his wrist having him follow me.
As we head up the stairs, I'm so afraid he's going to think I'm so weird and boring and he won't want to be my friend anymore.
As if Lucas was reading my mind, he says, "Don't be scared Raleigh."
Once we reached my room I asked, "How'd you know I was scared?"
"Your facial expressions have always been easy to read." He replied.
"Okay then." I giggled. "So. I never got to ask what your family is like."
"My family is amazing! My mom's name is Liz Hemmings and my dad's name is Andrew Hemmings. I have two older brothers, Ben and Andrew." He replied proudly. He must really like his family.
"How'd you get your accent?" I asked with curiosity. When he left the orphanage, he had a perfect American accent.
"Well you see, my dad had a job relocation to Australia, and I picked up the accent."
"That's really cool!" I stated.
"Now, enough about me. Do you like living with the famous Lynch's?" He asked.
"Of corse I like it! You know I love R5." I replied.
"Have you told them about your musical abilities?" He asked.
"Well, no. Not yet." I said. I haven't told the Lynch's that I can sing, play piano, guitar, or drums. All they know is I love music.
"Why not?! Your amazing!"
"I'm just afraid they won't think I'm good." I confessed.
"Don't think like that! Your an amazing and talented girl!"
"Thank you." I said giving him a hug.
After I pulled back, Lucas asked, "Will you be my girlfriend?"
"What?" I said in shock. Lucas and I have always been that pair of friends who flirt with each other, but I never thought of us as a couple.
"I know we're two years younger than me and you've never had a boyfriend, but we've known each other our whole lives and I know you feel the same way."
"Of corse I feel the same way. I'm just scared."
"Well don't be. I'm just a friendly giraffe." He said.
"Okay, but we have to take things slow."
"I promise." He said holding out his pinky.
"Good." I said linking our fingers together. With that we walked downstairs pinky in pinky.
