Feelings Change Ch. 23

Ross's POV

"So yeah, we're just gonna go to the movies now. I get it. We can meet you there. Oh my god, MOM. SHE'S IN THE--fine. Bye. Love you too."

I hit end on my phone and threw it in the cup holder. Laura was giggling in the passenger seat, and let me tell you I tried so HARD to pretend to be mad.

So. Hard.

But I couldn't. She's too freaking adorable and so important and I don't even know why that makes NOT want to fake being angry but it does and it frustrates the crap out of me.

"Sooooo, how was the phone call?" Laura said, still managing a few giggles to escape her lips. Her very kissable lips that have been mocking me ever since she opened that godforsaken door.

"Oh, just peachy Laura." So I guess I could fake some sarcasm.

"Why'd you say, no. Why'd you scream SHE'S IN THE CAR MOM?!" She burst out into a fit of laughter and clutched her stomach.

Her exposed stomach.

I shuffled in the drivers seat and slightly pressed on the gas a little more.

"She thought we were gonna do some very suggestive things." I muttered and looked straight ahead, almost running a red light.

Her giggling quieted a bit and she asked, "How suggestive?"

My eyes widened a bit and I fought the urge to step on the brakes. I choked a tiny, "What?" out before I could even comprehend what little Rapunzel in the passenger seat had said.

"I said how suggestive? Like, eating popcorn with our feet? Or, you know, other things."

I almost screamed aloud "POPCORN. STICK TO THE POPCORN." but I figured I could tease a bit.

"Yup."

"Huh?"

"I said yes."

"But to what."

"Oh look at that! The theatre! And just in time!"

She groaned and muttered something about me being a prick but I mean, I gotta have some game. And quietly thanking The Lord I didn't stutter on my responses with freaking Aphrodite next to me, I'm pretty sure the score is 20-10.

We walked up movies still an hour early. She suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me to a nearby store.

"ROSS."

I looked at her confused as she just stared at something on the other side of the glass.

"What?"

Her grip tightened on my arm as she continued staring, suddenly jumping a little.

"Ross. Look!" She pointed to the glass with her free hand. I turned to look at the thing she was so happy about and finally understood her excitement.

Austin & Ally posters and CDs and a few shirts from Targets Ally Dawson collection were all on display. I turned to her with a huge smile on my face as she started to get her phone out of her clutch.

"Ross, I can't believe it! WE MADE IT!" She hugged me really tight and I returned the favor, smiling into her shoulder.

She took so many pictures and an attempt at a selfie with it.

"Ross, get in the picture!" She exclaimed, and I couldn't NOT get in.

I put a cheeky grin on my face and she put her mouth in an 'o' shape and took it with her flip phone. I gave her my iPhone instead so she could take one from there.

"You know, you should really get of that old thing. I heard an iPhone 6 was coming out soon."

She rolled her eyes and handed me my phone.

"And you should try a classic phone instead of those touch screens. I mean, by the time the eighth version of that phone comes out, I would've made flip phones a thing." She said, whipping her phone opened and closed a few times to, I guess emphasize her point.

We started walking to the theatre as I said, "By the time there's an eighth version, your flip phone will be irrelevant and replaced."

She hit my arm as I opened the glass door.

"I don't get it, why isn't your family here yet? Tangled starts in two minutes." Laura whispered as she put more pieces of popcorn into her mouth.

"I'm not sure. I'll text them."

The lights started to dim and the please silence your phone message popped onto the screen.

"Oh forget it. Better its the two of us and not all of them. They talk a lot." I whispered towards her.

She chuckled and stared at the screen as Flynn Rider appeared.
