After I read the message, I got no sleep.

How did he find me?

I needed to get some rest for work tomorrow, but I couldn't stop thinking about that message.

My eyes finally began to close, when my alarm went off.

Are you Kidding me.

I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I looked terrible. I had dark circles and my eyes were red. I tried to cover it all up with makeup, but you could still tell I was exhausted.

Eventually, I gave up and made myself a coffee and left for work.

"Okay... not to be rude, but you look terrible." Alex pointed out when we were all sat in my office.

"Thanks Alex." I responded sarcastically.

"No but seriously, are you alright?" Joe asked with concern.

"I'm fine."

Everyone silently looked at me, unconvinced.

My eyes met with Virgil's and he gave me a worried look.

"Are you sure?" He softly asked.

"I'm sure. Now guys, what's going on with you? You guys just won the Merseyside derby! You must be happy?"

Nobody replies, still looking concerned as I force a smile.

"Come on Alaïah. You're not okay. What is it?" Asks Rhian.

"Seriously guys. I'm fine. We're here to help you with your problems. Not give you more of mine."

"Are you sure?" Questioned Alex.

"Come on guys. You heard what she said. She doesn't want to talk about it, so just leave her alone." Virgil snaps, with a hint of frustration in his tone.

"Alright, damn. We're just trying to help." Justified Rhian, holding his hands up.

I just smiled at Virgil and he smiled back.

"So, back to what I was saying..."

I stare at them blankly.

"Which was..." Trent urges.

"I forgot." I say laughing.

"Okay. I'm not being funny now but Alaïah, you are not alright. I know you're just here to do your job but you can't focus if you're going through your own stress. I don't know what's going on, but you need some rest." Joe finally bursts out.

Everyone glances in Virgil's direction, waiting for his reaction. But he says nothing.

"He's right, Alaïah." He admits to everyone's surprise.

"I know you guys are just trying to help, but it's nothing I can't handle."

Everyone is still unconvinced, but we move on regardless.

"Well... of course we're happy about the result. We kept up the winning streak against Everton and hopefully it stays like that." Virgil says, breaking the silence.

We carried on talking before they went back down to the training grounds.

Virgil stayed behind when everyone left.

"I know you don't want to talk now. But please don't hesitate to talk to me if you need absolutely anything."

"Anything..." I say, with a seductive look in my eyes as I wrapped my arms around his broad shoulders. He returned the look and grabbed my waist, picked me up like I weighed nothing and placed me on my desk.
