"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Martin Luther King J.R

Xander was breathing fast and hard, while he was looking around the house. The last thing he could remember was being out in the woods running away from Katherine before she attacked him. He remembered how painful it was when he was trying to fight for his life. He also could remember saying goodbye to her while he was dying in her arms.

"Xander... Xander look at me!" yelled Katherine.

Xander finally snapped back to the present and asked "Am... am I... am I alive?"

"Yes. I don't know how." answered Katherine.

"How long was I dead for?" asked Xander in a panicked tone.

"Since last night." replied Katherine.

He slowly got off of the bed and after he stood there for a moment Xander slowly walked towards the door. Katherine was right behind him. She was ready to catch him if he lost balance.

"How are you feeling?" asked Katherine.

"I... I feel ok, I guess. I am really thirsty." answered Xander with a small smile.

"Ok... let's go get you something to drink." replied Katherine as she opened the door for him.

The moment that the door opened, and everyone looked over at them. Nobody could believe it. All of them came rushing over to Xander until Katherine jumped in front and let her eyes turn scarlet red. She also let out a small but deep growl letting everyone know to back off and give him some space.

"Give him some space. He just came back from the dead. Let him have a few moments before you rush him with questions." said Katherine in an irritated tone.

Katherine turned around and grabbed Xander's hand. She walked him over to the watering hole. She scooped some water into a small bowl for him. Katherine helped Xander with getting the bowl full of water up to his dry cracked lips. The moment that the water touched the taste buds on his tongue, Xander thought that it tasted like shit for some odd reason. So, he ended up spitting it back out of his mouth. Katherine became worried about Xander even after he gave her a small smile with his dried cracked lips that started to bleed a little bit.

He told her "Please don't worry about me. I will be perfectly fine. I promise darling."

Before he could say anything else Xander started to eyeball Katherine's throat. He could hear her heartbeat and his throat became as dry as sand in the Sahara Desert. His mouth became really watery from this newfound hunger that was building up inside of him. All of a sudden, he could feel his insides burning up like if they were on fire. Xander managed to push himself away before he could give into the hunger.

"Stay away from me Katherine. Please I don't wanna hurt you." said Xander in a worried tone.

Katherine was confused and asked, "What do you mean by that?"

"I... I... I felt this powerful hunger when I looked at your throat. I don't know what is happening but it's like every emotion is on overdrive." replied Xander.

While he was telling Katherine about what was going on with him, Kelsey was hiding around a corner that was about a couple of hundred feet away and she was using her enhanced vampire hearing to eavesdrop onto their conversation. She knew what was going on with Xander. Kelsey quickly ran over to Katherine and Xander and put her hand on Katherine's shoulder.
