[An anidala chapter for my fellow shippers out there (/・ω・)/]

"Ani? My goodness you've grown."

"So have you. Grown more beautiful. F-for a faction leader, I mean."

The Abnegation leader simply blushed and  smiled. "And you'll always be that little boy I knew in Abnegation."

The Dauntless man looked down in embarassment. One side of his brain wondering if she was right, if a part of him would always be Abnegation. The other side determined to show her how Dauntless he was now.

. . . . . . .

"I do not like this idea of hiding."

"I didn't think Abnegation had opinions."

"I didn't think Dauntless could think about anything." She muttered under her breath, hoping he wouldn't hear her.

"So you're a smart-mouth Stiff. That's new. Seems almost Candor."

Anakin almost smiled at the faction leader -Amidala they called her now- she really was beautiful, especially as her cheeks flushed at his comments. "Your faction leader thinks it is for best." He assured. "Besides, it's only until we find the people who  are trying to kill you."

"I haven't worked a year on the factionless uprising issues not to be here when their fate is decided."

"Sometimes we must let go of our pride and do what is requested of us."

She almost jumped, looking back up into his eyes. It sounded like something right out of a speech from Abnegation. Maybe there was some truth in his statement. Maybe she was being selfish. And maybe, just maybe, he wasn't.

"You've grown up."

. . . . . . .

"You can talk to me, you know." Anakin said, breaking the silence as they sat at dinner.

"I'm sorry." She said. He rolled his eyes. The routine was too well-remembered for him. The politeness of it all was both welcoming and irritating. He couldn't decide. Not that he expected her to be completely open to him. She was Abnegation. It was impossible.

"I'm enjoying the time with my family. They said they'd like to have you over for dinner again. For old times sake."

It was a start. It's not like Abnegation made a habit of inviting other factions into their homes. Especially transfers. It had to be awkward for her. He hated that. This could be a way to loosen tension. "I'd love to."

. . . . . . .

It felt good to have some role in protecting her from these angry faction threats. It felt good to be recognized. Or at least he was until she had to go and put him down.

"What are your suggestions?" Another Abengation council leader had asked him before she had cut in.

"Anakin isn't a Dauntless leader. He's just assigned to protect me. I was thinking-"

His face had gone hot with irritation. "Hey, wait a minute-"

"Excuse me." She'd cut in again. "I was thinking to go to the Amity. My sister lives there with her family and I think she'd be willing -for the sake of peace- to take me in. Besides, with Dauntless patrolling around those areas, it would be very difficult to get in otherwise."

"I'm in charge of security here, Miss. If anyone has a say in where you're going-"

"I think it would be wise if we took advantage of my connections in this situation."
