Chapter 4:

                                                'Still Scarlett's Point of View'

"Run."  Huh? Where am I? "Run." I circled around expecting to find somebody, but all I seen was nothing. I was in an empty hallway.

It looks like an abandon hospital hallway. "Hello?" I slowly started walking ahead. "Is anybody here?"  I walked up to one of the doors that was in the hall.

There was old people sitting in there watching tv. I tried openning the door, but it was looked. I knocked on the door, but nobody looked at me. I was alone.

I walked away from the door and started wondering the hallways. I didn't see anybody. "Hello? Anybody there?" My voice echoed into the hallway as I walked. "Run." There it was again. The voice. It was faded now though. Like it was scared to speak, but why was it scared?

"Hello? Who's there?" I looked around and seen nothing. I kept walking as I heard a squeaking noise come from the end of the hallway. "Hello?"

Nothing. I kept walking as I approached a TV. It was static. You couldn't see a picture or anything. I walked over to the TV and hit it.

A newsreporter popped up on it. He was talking but no sound was coming out. I gave it another hit. Still no sound.

I walked over to the window across from the TV and seen nothing but fog. Then, things in the room started shaking. I turned around to see everything going crazy. Then the ground started shaking like someone was stomping.

I turned around and seen the door knobs moving. "RUN!" I looked to see the TV reporter screaming run. I panick and ran out the door. What is going on? I ran down the hallway as I felt someone following behind me.

I turned my head to see my mom chasing me. "SCARLETT!" She yelled like she was some kind of wild animal. I turned back around and ran faster. I watched as I pasted up doors and doctors and patients.

Didn't anybody see me? Can they not notice the mad woman chasing after me? I ran faster than before. As I got deeper down the hallway, I seen a white light. Something told me to run to it. Something, but what?

I could feel my mom catching up to me as I ran. All I have to do is get to the white light then I'll be safe. I had to be safe. Something told me I'll be safe.

I ran the fastest I could as I got closer and closer to the light. I was on I few feet away when I felt my mom grab my waist and pull me towards her. I screamed in terror as I jumped towards the white light.

"Scarlett.." I was standing there with my eyes close. I could feel a cool breeze hitting me. "Scarlett." My eyes flung open as I seen I was in a white field. "Who's there?" I looked around to find nobody.

"Scarlett." It was the same soothing voice that told  me to run a while ago. It was the sweetest sound I ever heard. "Hello? Who are you?"

A blurry figure appeared walking towards me. I squinted my eyes together to try and make out who it was. "Vincent?" I heard his laugh as he approached. "Vincent, what are you doing here? Where's my mom?"

He smiled at me as he put his arms on mine. "Don't worry about her. You're safe now." I blushed from his touch and tried my best to hide my face. He put his hand under my chin and picked my head up to look at him. "Scarlett, I have to tell you something."  "What is it?"  "I-"

"SCARLETT!" I turned around shocked to hear my mom's voice. I looked back at Vincent and seen him fading. "No, don't go." He just smiled and waved at me as he disappeared into a fog. "WAIT, COME BACK!" "SCARLETT!"

******

"SCARLETT! GET YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE!" I jumped up from shocked. I looked around to find I was in my room. It was only just a dream? I climbed out of bed and walked downstairs to my mom. My legs were still all wobbly and my stomach had a major pain in it.

"Yes, mom?" I walked down to see my mom standing by the door putting her coat on. "I'm going out and when I come back I want this house to be spotless. Got it!"  "Yes, ma'am" She left without saying another word.

I stumbled up stairs and took a shower. I put some peroxide on my cuts so they wouldn't get infected. It burned really bad, but I had to because there was no way I could go to the doctors. My mom would either blame it on me saying I did that or she would go to jail and I'll be in fostercare.

That's why I never told anybody about my mom abusing me.
