As soon as I get home I freak out. I know I shouldn't but it's impossible not to. What am I going to do? Im so incredibly happy but I can't fall for a regular teenage guy, it's just not right! And no, I don't mean that I only date rich or famous guys, I mean I don't date humans. Or date, period. What would Tessa say? Oh I wish she could've come on this mission with me instead of my parents, but oh well.

I get out my new computer and open to my new (and fake) Facebook page. I try not to but I do; I look up Oliver James. His profile picture is of him pulling a funny face on the beach and his cover photo is an adorable kelpie puppy who I guess belongs to him. And then I hit the friend request button. I shouldn't, it's for his own good but I have to! I'm compelled to. My request is accepted almost immediately and I get an exited sounding message from Oliver just as quickly.

We talk for hours non stop about pretty much everything. Sport, art, secrets (not that I can tell him my biggest one), friends, family, and so on and so forth until I see that it's almost five-thirty pm and reluctantly say goodbye.

Alexis: "It's 5:30?! I gotta go. We've been talking for 2 hours!"

Oliver: "I know haha it's pretty awesome. please don't go :P"

Alexis: "My parents hate when I'm online for very long :/"

Oliver: "Ok. Well do you need a lift to or from school tomorrow?"

Alexis: "A lift home would be great. I think my mum is bringing me to school in the morning though"

Oliver: "Ok cool. I'll see you at school. Night :)"

Alexis: "Goodnight Oliver"

I may have had to lie to Oliver about my parents not wanting me online for so long, and the fact that I even have parents in the way that humans do, but it's not like I could do anything about that. And I guess my so called parents are my guardians. That counts as the equivalent to human parents, right?

I look out of the window to see the orangey-pink glow of the evening sky. I slip off my dress and other clothing items and pull on a loose green silk dress with a low back, perfect for my now visible wings.

I examine them carefully, checking for any damage but they look alright apart from a few crinkles from being tucked under my school uniform all day. The transparent glimmer of them makes me want to soar through the evening sky and show them off to all the humans below. I decide to go for a quick visit to Tessa's human hideout and slip quietly out the window so that my parents don't hear me.

The air feels amazing on my wings as I stretch them out behind me and open them as I jump from the window. I shoot up and climb higher and higher, soaring through the clouds and basking in the last rays of sunlight. This is the life. I wish I could fly forever. That would be amazing.

I fly all the way to Christchurch, New Zealand without thinking of Oliver once, too absorbed in the feeling of the air rushing past my face.

As soon as I reach where Tessa is staying I see her curled up on a couch, wings spread out as far as they can go, reading a book.

"Tessa!" I exclaim happily.

"Al?" She replies looking astonished. I haven't heard my nickname in ages.

"Just thought I'd drop in for a while, I miss you and I've got so much to tell you." I say with strong enthusiasm.

"You what?!" Tessa exclaims, staring wide-eyed and gaping.

"I think I'm falling for a human boy." I say more slowly, trying to patronise her. I know she heard me the first time.
