Chapter 1

"Hey Catherine, it's past 5 already and we are closing"
I almost get knocked out of my thoughts when I saw a guy dressed all in a blue suit right in front of my table. It was the librarian and that sent a clear indication that they were closing the library since it was on a Saturday, and they close early on weekends.
"Daaaamn Catherine, what's up with you lately? You have a test on Monday and all you can afford is sleep in the library? This phrases kept playing in my mind when I realised I've only been wasting my good-damn-time for studies which I dint even attend to but slept instead. I stare at Marcel deep in thoughts debating on whether to go straight home or pass by Tessa's.

"Hey, was I loud enough? I said we closing already" Marcel spews this in anger.
"uuuuhm sorry Mr, I was trying to figure out whom I assisted my book before I fell asleep" I lied knowing pretty well I only had one book which was my notebook to be precise. Since I didn't want any more confrontations with him, I packed my book and pen in my sling bag and took out my phone ready to dial Tessa's no as I walked out.
Tessa happened to be the only friend I've made since I reported to HighBridge.

F...k Okay I have two people named Tessa on my contact list and I didn't bother to memorize or save them differently for easier identification. I was then forced to play my"try and error"card to trace Tessa, my bestfriend to be no. So I went on and dialed the first no saved by that name but it was sent to voicemail.

"oooooh no please, I hope the second no someone's gonna pick. I really need somebody to help me out with the math so that I'm not forced to retake the unit" I mumble this to myself as if they were hearing me and going to respond to all my pleas. I dialled the second Tessa and "fukes," I hear myself utter that as if something burdensome had been relieved from me.
"Hey, hello", my voice lightens as I calculated every mono syllable that I uttered so as not to make a single mispronunciation or something that would make the person on the other side to hang up.
"Hey Catelina," I could tell by her response that this ain't the Tessa I really wanted to talk to but I had to finish the conversation and drive home.
She invited me to accompany her to a party in a certain frat house not far from town, but I declined the offer since I had lots of study to do. "it's fine Catelina, I'll count on you next time," she ended the call with that phrase and I could already tell the frown on her face as she uttered that.
I entered in my Mustang which was parked in the driveway ready to go home.
Before I even started the engine, sing me to sleep by Alan Walker sang as my phone vibrated and I could tell Tessa had her phone switched on and found out that I was trying to reach her.
I almost cursed when I saw Cyrill Evan's name appear on the screen. What does he really want? I already told him off that me and him canever be. Anyways who knows,he might be willing to help me with some math problem since he knew how poor I was at it.
"Hey, I answer in a" just leave me the fucking alone dude"tone. How  are you Cate? Its been long. Can we hang out tonight?
I yelled out a big NO without putting much into consideration of how this could make him feel, hanging up the call.
