Earthbound- From the viewer's perspective

Demo... I mean prologue

My name is Sadie Lewis, I'm twenty years old and my hobby is retrogaming. I like RPGs and platform games the most.

It's not like I like them since I was a child. In my childhood, I've had contact only with my big brother's broken gaming console which is laying in the basement so far.. And my parents wouldn't be able to afford game consoles or games at that time. I started to be interested in retro games in high school when I became friends with a girl who grew up with them and probably loves them so far (unfortunately, I've lost contact with her). When I came to her, she either introduced me to her games or walked with me to a nearby flea market in search of "new" games. And thanks to her I learned about online emulators.

My favorite game is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which in my opinion is the best game in the whole The Legend of Zelda franchise. I really liked the demo version of Undertale, but it even isn't a retro game. However, I am not fond of the Final Fantasy series. It's too boring for me. And besides, all other games are equal to me.

However, I prefer to watch someone play games rather than play them myself. It's probably because when I played games with my friend, she played them more often than me and it came out better than when I was playing them. This also results from the fact that I can not play "blind". However, this is firstly because I lack the courage and before playing the game I feel that I have to be "prepared", and secondly because I have a bad luck with spoilers.

My favorite youtuber is TotalGamerHolic. I met him by his videos from my favorite game. Before that, I did not like the The Legend of Zelda franchise, mainly because of the first two games. One day, when I had nothing to do, the video from the third game in the franchise, which is my favorite, uploaded by Total (this is the abbreviation of his pseudonym) appeared to me on the homepage. Just after clicking it, I could not stop watching tha video, and although I always watched daily one video from a currently watched game, this time I watched three. I do not know if it's because not only I think that it's the best game in the franchise, or because it's TotalGamerHolic who uploaded videos with it.

Now I just finished watching the final Chrono Trigger video, of course uploaded by Total. The game itself was interesting, but I did not like the fact that during the fbattle there was the same track playing as outside of it. What caught my attention the most was that at the end of the video Total said that the next game he is playing is going to be be Earthbound. I have never heard about this game, so I decided to search for non-spoiler information about it on the Internet. It turned out that this game came out in the year of my birth! With a few screenshots from the game I managed to deduce that it is a science fiction game, which is not as extreme example of the genre as, for example, Metroid or Mega Man. I was also surprised that this game came out on the SNES console, and its graphics looked like a combination of those from both NES and SNES. However, I will like this game or not, it will turn out when I'll watch it on TotalGamerHolic's channel.
