Waiting for Skylar outside of her class, I couldn't help but think of what the voice said.

Speak to your father.

What does my dad know that I don't? What is he keeping from me? I hope he is able to answer whatever questions I have.

"Hey Dom. What are you doing here?" My friend Luke asked me as he walked up to me.

"Hey man. Nothing much, just waiting for someone." I pointed with my head towards the door.

"Oh cool. Have you heard about the new girl? Tyler or kylee or some-"

"Skylar. Her name is Skylar and yea I had class with her this morning. "

"I heard she is hot!"

How dare he talk about our Skylar like that!! Before I could even think about it, I had luke up against the lockers by the straps of his bookbag.

"Don't talk about her like you know her! She isn't one for you to look at. Period. Got it?" I growled in his face.

"Uh Dom?" I heard from behind me. Releasing Luke, I looked at him wide eyed before I turned around and saw Skylar there looking at me.

Turning back to Luke and helping him off the floor, "I am so sorry man. I don't know what came over me."

"It's ok man. But you might want to figure all of that out before next time. We may be boys but I will punch you. Got it?"

Nodding, "Got it. Sorry. "

"Are you guys ok?" Skylar asked. We both turned back to her.

"Yea, we are good. Who are you?" Luke asked.

"Oh I'm new here, my name is Skylar. And you are?"

"I'm Luke. Nice to meet you. But I gotta go to class. see you around." With that he walked down the hallway.

I looked at Skylar. She looked a little wary of me. Fix that you idiot.

Walking towards her, I assured her "I am really sorry that you had to see that. I really don't know what came over me. "

Pushing her hair behind her ear, "It's ok, I just hope everything is ok. I got a little worrired about you, not going to lie."

I chuckled, "Well it's nice to know that you worry about me. But I promise you I am fine. Now let's get you to your next class"
