Sparks

CHAPTER 1

I put my blonde hair in a high ponytail and look at myself in the mirror. I have hazel eyes and full pink lips. I am considered beautiful in the pack and that leads to alot of unwanted male attention.
WHY DON'T THEY UNDERSTAND THAT I AM SAVING MYSELF FOR MY MATE?!

Yeah I am a werewolf. My first shift was at 16 and I haven't found my mate yet which is soul mate for a werewolf. Unlike humans we can identify our mates by their distinct smell and sparks on contact!
And like any girl I can't wait to meet mine..!

We werewolves are naturally blessed in looks. All girls in my pack are pretty and don't get me started on the guys... they make saving every first for my mate very hard and especially when they are so up for it!

But I am already in love with my mate!
I WILL TRY TO BE THE BEST MATE EVER!

What will he be like?
What will be the colour of his eyes?
Which pack will he be from?
I am 18 when are we gonna meet??

These are the thoughts that consume me as I make my way outside for the pack ceremony.
Today our alpha was handing his title over to his son. Alpha Nathan was to be our new alpha. Our old Alpha was such a good one and cared for his pack deeply. I didn't know much of the new Alpha yet.

I head towards the pack place where pack ceremonies are mostly held. The place is very crowded and I immediately begin the search for my friends.
I am turned around and come face to face with my two best friends!
Chase and Chloe. We are best friends since diapers. We had been together in school and all. They both are extremely cheerful and one can't stay sad in their company. Chloe has red hair with green eyes and is really pretty. Chase is handsome too with a good build.

" Sup dude " says Chloe

" Finally I was getting bored!" I reply

" Who got bored while I am still here?!" Said Chase.

And like that we fall Into conversation about what happened in our lives for the two hours we were forced to spent apart.

We were silenced when we heard the the voice of our alpha. He gave a long speech  about his time as the alpha and then transferred his Alpha title to his son now our Alpha Nathan. I felt a surge of protectiveness and respect for the new Alpha as every wolf there felt.

Alpha Nathan was hot. That was one way to describe it. He hadn't found his mate yet and every girl was wishing for that position but not me. I don't want to be a luna. I just want to spend my time with my mate and that will be difficult if he's an Alpha.

The Alpha then proceeded to tell that he will be going on a long vacation with his luna.
A well earned vacation I thought.

Everyone then proceeded to the food. I saw chase coming towards me and chloe with three plates full of food. He knew our favorites!

" Once this is over I will come with you to pick up Ben. " I said to Chloe

" I think he and nick were planning for a sleepover" She said with a laugh

Ben was my little brother. He was the only family I had since my parents died in a rogue attack. I got little time with my parents. They were so caring. Ben was just a little baby when they died. He doesn't even remember them. I try my hardest that he doesn't feel their absence but at the end of the day I am only his sister. His best friend was nick who was Chloe's little brother.

I was so consumed in my thoughts that I was momentarily frightened by the hand on my shoulder.

It was NATHAN. ALPHA NATHAN.

" Meet me in the woods after a hour and don't tell anyone " he whispered in my ear

What what what? What did he wanted to talk to me about?

Chloe and Chase raised eyebrows at me but I just shrugged.
