8 Months Later

Sila's POV

I came to America an year ago and it was the best decision of my life. I found a job as a lifeguard in the Tipton Hotel and it pays fairly well for me to lead a comfortable life. I don't have any friends to be honest ,my co-workers are as boring as hell.

Liam and Niall visited me yesterday before going back to Mexico. I had fun with them during the last few months, I played golf with Niall and Liam showed me the museums, they were a little boring to be honest but both of them were trying to make me comfortable and I am so grateful. The house felt empty without them but I had to get used to it, I guess.

At the Tipton Hotel

"Sila, please meet me in my office" Stacy aka my boss said.

"Yes ma'am" I walked towards her office and knocked on the door opening it up a little.

"Hey, please have a seat" she pointed at the seat on the other side of the table and held a letter in her hand. Oh no, I have a feeling that it's not gonna be good.

"So Sila",she took a deep breath, "I am really sorry to say but.......we have to let you go. The hotel can't afford to have more than 4 lifeguards and since you are the most inexperienced..." she put her hand forward and gave me the letter.

Ms.Grey,

This letter of termination of employment is to inform you that your employment with The Tipton Hotel will end on the last day of this month . This decision is final and will not be modified.

You have been terminated for the following reasons:

Recent economic conditions have caused a significant downturn in sales, necessitating a 20 percent workforce reduction at the Tipton Hotel. Unfortunately, your position is part of this reduction and has been eliminated.

You will receive your final paycheck after your last day, as well as payment for remaining leave. You will also receive a $2,000 severance payment provided the attached release of claims document is signed and returned.

You are requested to return the company uniform, key card, and pager on your last day of employment.

Also, please keep in mind that you have signed a number of agreements which prohibit you from divulging confidential information.

If you have questions about this letter please contact Casey Smith at tiptonhotel.
tiptonhotel.employ@gmail.com.

Yours,
Adeline Williams

I just sat there with my mouth wide open and the letter trembling in my hands . Where the heck am I going to find a job on such a short notice?
Gladly, Stacy came to my rescue

"Don't worry love" she smiled at me "You were the best we ever had, so I reached out to my friend at the Styles Hotel and Casino and they have a vacant seat for a lifeguard, so if you're interested...."

"YES!" I shouted before she could even finish her sentence . Not to be disrespectful but Styles Hotel and Casino was MUCH better than Tipton ,better facilities, better pay and hopefully better staff.

She smiled widely at me and said "Alright, I'll set you up for an interview....tomorrow?" She raised one eyebrow and I nodded my head vigorously, smiling back at her. She gave me the address of the hotel a few pointers to use at the interview .

I exited the office with a smile on my face. Am I seriously happy about getting fired? Only because you get to work at the Styles Hotel and Casino ,my subconscious added.

Next Day

I woke up tired as hell, I couldn't sleep last night because of the nervousness. I took a short cold shower to wake myself up. I couldn't decide what to wear but finally settled on a deep v-neck maroon top with a black pencil skirt which brought out my curves, I am really proud of my body, especially after I started to hit the gym. I decided to go with some black stilettos to add to my height. I looked at myself one last time before going out, my wavy light brown hair and hazel eyes complemented the outfit. Damn I look good but I hope the boss likes me too, I really want this job .

I reached the hotel in about 20 minutes and Oh. My. God. I entered a grand lobby which had a marble flooring, a huge chandelier in the middle of the ceiling and the whole room had Golden lighting which gave a very rich look. I had never seen anything so fancy in my whole life. I scanned the room while walking towards the receptionist.

"Hey, Sila Grey here for the job interview for the..uh..lifeguard". The receptionist was very beautiful and I got extremely insecure, will I fit in here? I mentally gave myself a Pep talk and continued to look up. I held my resume close to my chest, trying my best to look professional.

"Sure ma'am, I'll let Mr.Styles know you're here" she went towards the back somewhere, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I sat on one of the sofas and said the pointers Stacy gave to me in my head.
1 "Look the interviewer in the eyes"
2 "Clarify your 'selling points' and the reasons you want the job"
3 "Score a success in the first five minutes"
4 "Speak the right body language"
5 "Close on a positive note"

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves.

15 minutes later

"Mr.Styles will see you now" I got up from my seat and followed the receptionist towards the office. We walked for about five minutes before reaching a huge door. The receptionist opened it up for me and wished me good luck.

I gulped and entered the office. Mr.Styles was facing the enormous window in his office, looking at the beautiful view.

"It's a beautiful city, isn't it?" I said,
hoping to get his attention.

He turned around with a straight face and said "Let's get to business Ms.Grey".

Rude, but ok, he's my 'boss' after all. I couldn't help but just stare at his face. He was an unimaginably handsome man. I gave him my resume and he read it very carefully. The concentration he showed was beautiful. He wore a blue shirt with black coat and pants, it was a basic combination but somehow he made it look as if it belonged on a runway. The suit hugged his body perfectly, you could see his abs from underneath the thin shirt. He had that dominating aura which makes the other person feel intimidated. And right now that other person was me.

"If you done with your staring Ms.Grey, May I ask you some questions" he said in his husky voice and smirked at me.

"I wasn't staring at you sir, I was staring at the ...background" I tried to play it cool.

He just smirked and said "Let's get started, shall we?"
