Sila's POV

After Janice went to sleep I decided to take a little tour of our "flat". It was surprisingly big and had a modern look to it. All rooms had false ceilings of different designs. The main couloirs were white and gold. The living room had a white leather couch and marble flooring with a fur rug under the glass table. Opposite to the couch was a large flat screen TV and under it a shelf filled with magazines and ornaments.

There was a kitchen connected to the living room with a sliding door. The kitchen was very organized and the fridge was stocked with fresh veggies, snacks and drinks. The kitchen island was decorated with a fruit basket and different types of breads.

The bathroom was connected to both Janice's and my room. She told me to lock the other side so we don't have any awkward moments. Thankfully, we had our separate closets and vanity sets. The bed, in my bedroom, was covered with silk sheets and the mattress was as fluffy soft as a cloud. There were even cute reading lights placed on either side of the bed. There was a TV in my room too and a tilted shelf was on either sides. I couldn't wait to fill them up with my favorite books.

We both had our small but comfortable balconies, my balcony opened up to the city while Janice's to the pool house. She told me not to enter her room until she said so. I don't know what's with her and this much secrecy, but I do respect her privacy.

I had to remember that all this was not permanent, it's just till you have this job Sila, I told myself. I couldn't help but smile and see how much my life had changed for the good. Though, I still have nightmares about my past sometimes. Every time I close my eyes Jamal's face, as clear as a crystal, comes in close view. His hands creeping onto my body. I try to forget about them but they don't seem to leave. I pushed all those thoughts away and drifted off to sleep.

*the next morning*

I heard Liam's message and was excited to know that he was in LA. I was getting ready for my shift as it was 6:30am already. I called him and he picked up at the first ring.

Liam: "We need to talk Si."
Sila: "A hello would be nice" I rolled my eyes
Liam: "Where are you?"
Sila: "You sound serious, I'm in room 201 at the Styles Hotel and Casino"
Liam: "YOU EVEN LIVE HERE?!, I'm coming up right now"
Sila: "Wha-Where- How are you here?" There was silence for the next 2 minutes.
Liam: "I'm here Sila"

I opened the door with the phone still in my hand. I was shocked to see how fast he came up here. I kept my phone in my bag and looked up at him.

He entered hurriedly and started pacing across the room with both his hands on his hips. He was extremely angry and it scared me. Sure, I began to feel comfortable with him but it doesn't mean I let go of my fears. I felt like a little girl again, scared of my petrifying brother.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU SILA?!" His raised both his hands in the air. I naturally flinched and backed away from him. He noticed that and took a deep breath to calm down. "Listen, You need to sit down Sila" he sat beside me on the couch and rested both his hands on his knees.

"Sila, you can't work here" he began. I was ready to fulminate. My life was finally turning around and that's what he says to me. I open my mouth to say something but he was preparing himself to explain himself. I closed my mouth and nodded at him, signaling him to continue.

"You can't work here, not for Boss. You seriously forgot what I told you about him a year ago? He is more dangerous than Jamal and I don't want to repeat that mistake" He confessed.
