"Love is for children."
Natasha Romanoff is known to be a sassy, beautiful, badass, and an independent woman. Her father, Ivan Romanoff, owned a billion dollar company known as Romanoff Industries. She knew how much this company meant to her father. After all, he made it from scratch. Day and night, her father worked endlessly to make his business what it is today. After her mother passed away, Ivan drowned himself into his work, not realizing how severely it affected his daughter. The nights she spent alone, crying herself to sleep, thinking that she's all alone were like a daily routine. Her best friend Maria Hill and, Maria's adoptive father Nick Fury, always welcomed her with open arms. In some ways she considered Nick to be the father she never had. They never once made her feel as if she didn't belong. She spent more time at their house than her own. Occasionally Natasha would "help out" with Maria's flower shop but in reality, she would just sit there watching Maria stress. Clint Barton was also one of her best friends who she would share everything with, they've been inseparable since childhood and their bond only grew stronger when Clint's father joined Romanoff Industries.
Yes, Natasha had lots of money, but she could care less about being rich. The thing she yearned for was love. Love from someone who cared for her, someone who would fight the world for her. But she knew that love was for children so she let it go, letting herself believe that love didn't exist.
Natasha Romanoff didn't take shit from anyone. She stands her ground and confidently shares her opinions so when her father told her that she would have to marry Steve Rogers to expand their business relations, you can bet she didn't take it lightly.
"There's a chance you might be in the wrong business."
Steve Rogers is a cocky businessman, who so confidently does whatever he pleases, not caring about the consequences nor the impact it would leave behind. Sure he was known to have a track list with girls, but he just wasn't great with relationships and would rather prefer having a one night stand than going through all the drama of heartbreak and such. He's been through it once with his ex, Peggy Carter and that made him realize that love is only destined for some.
Peggy was the longest relationship he had and he honestly thought they would stay together forever and he cursed himself for believing in false promises. He swore to never let anyone into his heart not prepared to go through the pain again but when Peggy's neice, Sharon Carter came along, he had the perfect plan to hurt Peggy back. Not knowing that he would give a little bit of his heart to Sharon since she is kind of like Peggy, it only triggered old memories. Being with Sharon still didn't stop him from being his usual playboy self. He fucked around with girls just so he wouldn't have to deal with responsibilities.
No matter what he did in his personal life, he never let it affect his work. He worked with pure dedication hoping to make his parents proud and making the name Rogers stand out. Of course he adored his parents and always will but that doesn't mean he always saw eye to eye with them.
Joseph Rogers, the owner of Rogers Enterprise, had told his son that he needed to get married to one of his colleague's daughters to develop a better relationship between two companies but to who, he was unaware of. His father must be delusional if he thought he would go through with it. There is no chance in hell he'd give up his bachelor lifestyle just to get married to some pathetic girl. Steve will not get married to this mystery chick and that was a promise he was willing to make, he already hated her.
A/N: I'm so excited to make this story and some of these events may be mentioned more than once so don't be confused. I've shipped Romanogers for so long and it was about time I made a story and I hope you enjoy. xx.
