“I need you to promise that you will not tell another living soul what I am. My family doesn't even know what I am.” Kat looked him in the eye, trying to convey how serious it was to keep this secret.

“You mean your family does not know that you ar a witch?” He looked confused.

“No, my whole family is made of witches. The thing that they don’t know about is the cat thing. It happened about a year ago and they still don’t know, and I want to keep it that way.” She looked at him pointedly.

“Really a whole year? Why have you not told them.” He asked her.

“Because they have enough to worry about. And besides, this is my problem, not theirs.”She got up and started to pace around the room.

“Ok,” Luke said. “What are we going to do, can you fix this at all?”

“First off, there is no we. Second, there is no way to fix this. I don’t even think it’s a really big deal, so I turn into a cat every month, so what?” She turned to face him and smiled.

“I find it funny that you think this is all normal stuff. Because believe me, If I woke up one day and I was a cat, I would have totally freaked out. But you know, in a manly way of course.” He smiled back at her.

“I need to get back to my apartment and You need to forget that any of this ever happened. OK?” She looked over at him.

“OK,” Luke got up and walked toward her, “on one condition.”

“And what would that be?” Kat did not like where this was going.

“I want something from you.”

Kat sighed, of course he wanted something from her, she was a witch after all. Why did all men have to be the same? Why could she not find a decent guy that accepted her for who she was and not what she could do for them? “What do you want?” preparing for something like money or a car, Kat was not expecting what came out of his mouth next.

“I want a kiss.”
