Nathan
"Nathan! Are you done packing?!" My mom, Anne asked me.
"Yeah. I'll be down in a bit." I carried the last box and made my way to Mom's car. I won't bring a lot of things as I'll be staying with my dad for a little while.
Mom and His new husband, Alex, will be out of the country because of Alex's business trip. On that note, my parents was divorced when I was 13 and always been with my Mom since but still my dad, Nicholas, made some time to visit me. They don't end their relationship as if something bad happen, it's just to happen that one day they agreed to do so.
Their divorce affects me at first but I've grown to accept it as I see that they still care about me. They still act civil around me as if we're still together in one house which helped me not to end up being a rebel son of divorced parents. I love them too much to do that to them. Okay, enough of the drama.
"Do you really want to go?" Mom looked at me with hope. I sighed.
"Of course. It's not that I wanted to go away from you..." I looked at her pleading eyes. "I just want you to have your time with Alex. I felt like I'm holding you back from him."
"No, you're not and you know that." She caressed my cheek.
"I know... I just want to be with dad this time so you can enjoy your life with Alex. I can see that you are really happy being with him..." I hold her hand that was on my cheek. "You already spent your love and took care of me for the past 17 years. I don't want to take some from the ones you give to Alex, so be a full time wife to him." I said as I made my way to hug her. "Also, I will be bothering dad now instead of you, don't you want that?" I joked and she laughed.
"Okay, okay. If that's what you want. You probably miss him since he's not visiting you a lot lately. He must be busy with the customers at Café Hermoso." Yep, my Dad owns a café yet I've never been there but I already got to taste some of his specials when he visits me and I guarantee you that it's soooo goooood.
"He should be." I said grinning. This caused my mom to hit me in the arm. "Ow! I'm just joking." She just smiled back to me as she enters the car. I move to the passenger seat as the backseats was occupied by the boxes of my stuff.
"You'll definitely bother him." She said then she clicked her tongue. "Now, check your stuff. I don't want you telling me that you left something when we are in the middle of a 3-hour ride." I reached for the boxes remembering all the stuffs I packed.
"We're good now." I said as I assume that I don't have any important stuff that was left. "Okay, then buckle up." Mom instructed me then she starts the car. I got my phone out and my earphones as I prepare myself with to the long ride.

"...than. Nathan! Move out of the car. We're here."
"Okay! Just let me fully wake myself for a bit." I replied. That's how my mom wakes me in the morning. I got out of the car then I stretch for a bit. My legs felt like jelly from the ride. I followed mom into the cafe and I am welcomed by Dad.
"Here's my boy." Dad said as he engulfs me in a hug. "I missed you, Nathan." He released me then he shuffled my hair. "I missed you too, Dad." I replied sheepishly. Dad led us to one of the booth in the cafe.
"Wait here, I'll be talking with your Dad for a bit and we'll getting food. I know you're hungry from the long ride."
"No, I'm famished." I snickered. Mom raised her brow then she goes to the back of the counter with Dad.
