Part 3

Garrison's POV

Standing in front of these black gates of El cross elementary school, i am doubting my life decisions. Have I been focused on a single game in my life, I might have made it to commonwealth by now. But, me being me couldn't decide on one and went with all at once. Leading me to stand out here as a P.E. Teacher.

It's not that bad though, the pay in here is pretty good. While transferring me here the principal of my last school asked me to think it as a promotion as i'll be able to meet miracle children in here. Miracle children!! Ptfff.. yeah do they fly while playing? Without another thought i just entered inside.

I asked one of the boys for directions, who just happily lead me to the principal's office. I knocked twice but noone answered so i knocked again, halfway someone tapped on my shoulder, i turned to see a brunette standing straight booming with confidence in front of me.

"Excuse me, are you Mr. Garrison?" She asked in face pace with a raised eyebrow. She was tapping her shoes, it looked like she is running late to catch a flight or something.

"Uh.. Yes that is me." I replied .

"Nice to meet you Mr. Garrison. I am Phenelope Smith, assistant to the principal. All the teachers are in the meeting room. School Principal Mr. Davis, asked me to escort you to the meeting room. Please, if you will" she moved her body to make a way for me stretching her hand in the direction a bit. And we made our way to the meeting room.

As soon as I opened the room i was greeted by about 70 pairs of eyes. I was overwhelmed by all the attention i was getting out of blue, so i moved backwards causing me to hit Miss Smith who was standing behind me, that brought me back to my senses. She was glaring at me, i could feel it as the tingling sensation on back of my neck. I moved inside the room towards the only empty seat i saw in the middle of one of the two rows, and sat on it.

After few minutes the door to the room was opened and inside came a 6'2" feets tall man. He was wearing a clean ironed black suit with a plain white shirt beneath it. He was radiating a strong aura. He looks like a man to speaks no non sense. Everyone stood up to greet him, and so did i.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen." The man who just came inside the room, i am guessing, the principal, stated. Everyone sat down when he did. "Before we start i would ask you all to see a presentation of our school's last 3 years achievements."

The lights were dimmed, and the projector displayed a big El cross's name and school symbol on the big screen wall.

"El cross, is a joint elementary and secondary school. 3 years ago ,our school was placed among one of the top 30 best schools in U.S., but now it comes among top 15 best schools. Today we are on 8th position when it comes to extra circular activities. Our school has won 5th, 4th and 3rd prize in interschool soccer and basketball championships in last 3 years. We have won 1st prize in all 6 interschool quiz competitions, as well as all the interschool chess competitions in last 3 years. 4th and 3rd positions in interschool speech and debate competitions are taken by our school student. The best junior painter prize, junior paino talents prize, best academic performance award, best junior boxing, martial arts award are all taken by our school. All these are the result for the inter elementary school competition."Miss. Smith completed her presentation with that. And the light were lit again.

Although i have seen many students playing different sports but to see these small elementary students winning so many prizes against those top 4 elite school students, is truly something else.

"As you saw all the credit for the increase in rank of our school goes to these elementary students, who even managed to beat the 4 elite schools. If these small kids can do this why not the secondary section? They have brains, they have resources, they have facilities, they have everything it requires, all they lack is encouragement. They just need a spark, and that will do the work. Which is why upper authority has decided, to announce a new competition. Which is the award for the student of the year. Student with most  and best achievements in the end of the year will be awarded with the trophy for the student of the year." Principal said.
