I grumble as I toss and turn in my bed.
Another sleepless night. Convenient that it's the night before high school starts again. Very convenient.
I feel like crap.
Oh wait, I always feel like crap.
I angrily sit up from my bed and look at my clock. 4:29 AM it reads. Great.
I throw my blanket off and look out the window. The sun hasn't risen yet.
Let's catch a sunrise I guess.
I quietly open my window and the soft, warm 'end of summer' breeze hits my tired face. I grab my converse sweatshirt and climb out the window. In a very quiet way at that because I don't want to get grounded for sneaking out. Again.
It wouldn't be the first time I've done so, it's what I've been doing since middle school. Sneaking out is fun. Maybe too fun, but it's a thrill that I enjoy. It makes me feel like I'm doing something rebellious when in reality, it's a very innocent action.
I enjoy my walk as I listen to music and hum along to the beat.
I currently walk around my neighborhood, gazing cheerfully as the sky turns from its night form to a lighter blue, to lavender, and then to an array of pinks, yellows, and oranges.
Half the sky is ablaze with the rising sun and colors of hope while the other is glistening with the inky waters of night. It's spectacular and truly beautiful.
The sky seems so full of life, young and ready to take on its day. The world hasn't woken up yet but I have. No lights are on in sight. The only thing I see if the beach I have walked to. No one is on the sidewalks. Silence fills the atmosphere but in the distance, the low rumble of cars and trucks can be heard.
I glance down at my phone. 5:13 AM it reads.
That took longer than usual. It might be because I'm tired and my lack of food.
