The Arrival of The Sports Festival

~Maria's POV~

I stand in front of the Star Bucks near, leaning on the glass window as I play a game on my phone. "Hey Maria-chan!" A familiar voice shouts and I look up to see none other than Denki Kaminari running towards me as he waves his hand. "Hey Denki! What's up?" I ask the blond boy when he reaches me, "nothing much, is Kirishima here yet?" He asks me as stands in front of me. "No, I text I'm a few minutes ago and he said he's close" I tell him, "well he better hurry up! I don't want to be killed by Aizawa-sensei if he makes us late!" Denki says and shivers slightly. "Actually I don't think Mr. Aizawa will be at school today. He got really hurt at the USJ so he might not be back for a long while" I tell him. "You're right! But I hope he gets better soon, he did put his life on the line to keep us safe" Denki says as he looks down, his tone grave and sullen.

"I know and I hope he does too" I say feeling saddened at the thought of our teacher's current state. "Hey guys! I'm here!" A voice shouts and both Denki and I look in front of us to see Ejirou running towards us at top speed. "It's about time slow poke!" I tell him jokingly, "yeah I thought we were going to be late because of you!" Denki adds light heartedly and we all laugh. Over our extended weekend Denki made a group chat for the three of us and we all decided that since our neighborhoods are right next to each other we should talk to and from school everyday! "Come on guys let's go, I'm kind of curious to see who's teaching homerooms today" I tell my friends as I begin walking. "Me too, Aizawa-sensei was really messed up" Ejirou says as we all walk together in the direction of my apartment complex.

I told them about the shortcut from my apartment complex to school and we all agreed it would be the fastest route for us to take. I know we could have all just met up in front of my apartment complex but I honestly didn't mind meeting up at the Star Bucks with them. Besides I can always count it as morning exercise! "Wasn't this weekend fun?" Denki suddenly asks, breaking the silence between us. "Yeah it was super fun!" I tell him with a large smile, showing off my fangs just like every other time I smile too widely. We all continue to talk idly as we make our way to school at our own pace. We talk about the fun we had this weekend, future plans for later and other random things. We got so caught up in our talking that before I knew it we arrive at our classroom.

"Morning everyone!" Ejirou greets happily as he walks into the classroom with me and Denki right behind him. "Good morning everyone" I greet my classmates with a smile and a wave, some of my classmates greet me back as they've been doing so far and I give them a smile in return then take my seat behind Izuku. "Hey Izuku! How're you?" I ask the green haired boy as I sit down and set my large satchel bag down. This one is different than the one I wore when I first came to Japan, that one of a light brown color and small while this one is white in color and much larger. "He-hello Ri-san" Izuku greets me shyly, "hey Izuku I've been meaning to ask this but why are you so nervous around me? We're friends, I promise I don't bite despite having fangs" I tell him jokingly with a friendly smile.

"W-well that's because I'm n-not really u-used to being a-around girls. My o-only friend growing up was Kaachan but w-we're not really friends so much n-now" he tells me, his face becoming red slightly. "Oh, well I'm sure with time you'll get used to me!" I tell him with a thumbs up and he nods his head in agreement. I over hear our classmates talking about how our class was on TV last night, in fact I saw it! It was pretty cool, too bad my face didn't get shown cause I had my mask on. Though I could tell the news channels really didn't care about our class directly, more so how the hero course got attacked by villains. "Yeah, we're kind of big deals now. Those news channels love us we're basically celebrities!" I hear Denki say as he leans back in his chair. "Yeah it's kind of crazy!" Ejirou says as he looks at the blond boy.

"Get over yourselves, the hero course that pumps out pros was attacked and that's  what they care about" Kyoka tells the two boys as she plays with her earlobe. "You tell them girl!" I call out to Kyoka from across the room and give her a thumbs up. "You knows what would have happened to us if the teachers didn't show up" Sero says as he leans over his desk. "Yeah, we could have really died back then" I say as I let out a heavy breath. "Why are you saying that?! I'm going to pee myself just thinking about it!" Mineta cries out from behind me. "Oh please Mineta, grow up some" I tell the short boy with an amused eye roll. "I know it was super scary but calm down, we're safe now so there's no reason for you to pee yourself" I tell the small boy with a raised eye brow.
