The heat of the desert would fad ever so slightly, but It continued to suck the water out of anyone or anything that set it's marks in the sand. Night came about and stars filled the once light blue skies.

( I've changed the writing style )

(Y/N) would wake up, covered in a thin layer of sweat. Yet again, another nightmare had plagued her. Signing, she looked up at the sky as she rubbed her eyes clean of the tiredness. The night sky was dotted with colorful and bright stars, so far away, but It wasn't time for her to continue to star gaze, she had to continue on to the nearest town so she would restock and set out for the nomad.

Using the massive boulder next to her, she lifted herself up on her 2 legs. Grabbing her rucksack nearby, she set out into the thick vine-like forest, spikes littering the vine's surface. Looking about, she looked at the forest. It looked as if It was dead. There was barely a sound of life or anything really.

The stars from before had become a challenge to spot due to the dense vegetation around her. " So far, yet so beautiful." She muttered to herself.

Continuing to walk, she came to a fairly decent clearing within the vine forest. Rocks dotted the ground in nearly a pattern formation. It didn't settle well with (Y/N). In response, she slung her Lever action rifle about into her hands, readying it for anything. Lifting her scarf to cover her face, she continued to walk, but at a much slower pace.

She came close to the rocks, looking at them. As she stood in the center of them, she heard something. Spinning about, she whirled her rifle to meet whatever had made the sound. Nothing was present. She around again, the same sound. It was almost familiar.

She crouched down and picked up one of the rocks, firm in her hands. Inspecting the rock up close, she found it nearly perfect to ones she found in the sands of the wasteland. Nearly.

Suddenly, the rock grew eyes, opening them to meet (Y/N)'s eyes. Startled at this, she jumped up with a loud yelp. "Holy crows!" She screamed out, not knowing how it became a critter. As she regained her balance, more rocks came alive as critters.

"Wait, how are you all critters?" She questioned, unable to understand how they were brought to life from magic. Melinda?

(Y/N) looked around and wondered. Was her friend, the only one she knew that hid her magic, still alive? "Melinda? Melinda! It's me! (Y/N)!" She screamed out, trying to hopefully get her friend's attention.

As she continued to scream aloud for her friend, she did not notice something looming behind her. It continued to approach her. At the last moment, It took a hand on her shoulder. Again, (Y/N) flinched and knocked the hand back, raising her Rifle at whoever it was. It was the Nomad.

"Deary. You the nomad?"(Y/N) questioned, wondering If this person in front of her was the nomad. The person would stand there, looking at her with cheerful eyes and waving their left hand at (Y/N). Skeptical at this, she unfolded a poster of the nomad and compared to the two.

"Alright, Nomad, I've got you. Best you come with me and we won't have any trouble." (Y/N) Ordered, waving the barrel of the rifle towards the person. The Nomad looked at her shocked, shaking his head with worried eyes and motioning his hands 'No'.

"Look, apparently, your dangerous. With that, you've got a high bounty on your head and I want it. Also, how are you dangerous?" (Y/N) Asked, not seeing a single weapon on the nomad, not even a knife.

The Nomad again shook his head, relying the message that the Nomad brought to harm and was peaceful. (Y/N) looked at his motions as if he was crazy. "You able to talk?"  (Y/N) Again was still on her guard, still unsure about the stranger in front of her, but it started to melt away.

The Nomad looked down in response with sadden eyes. "So, your a mute." (Y/N) Sighed at the Nomad's inability to talk. "So, do you know how these little critters came about?"

The Nomad nodded happily, clapping the two hands together and another rock came to life, sporting a new 2 legs and 2 arms, along with 2 eyes to see the world. (Y/N) was shocked and sadden at the same time.

It was her old friend, the scarecrow. This shocked her.

It wasn't her older friend, Melinda. This sadden her.

She couldn't keep the tears back as she slung her rifle onto her back and hugged the Nomad.

"Do you remember me? (Y/N)?" She asked in between the sobs she managed to choke out. The Nomad's chest glowed and hugged her back, understanding that it was the same child that next to Melinda on the fateful day he came into the world.

"I'll show that red what's what. I am cut out for adventure, I am brave!" A voice rang out, foot steps on the dirt following short after. A yelp would be heard moments later as the noise of someone trembling down a hill was heard. (Y/N) grabbed the Nomad and hid in between the vines.

She slung her rifle back into her hands and looked around for what made the noise. She eyed something, or someone. A short girl with vast amounts of red hair on her head with green grass eyes and freckles dotting her face. She wore a huge backpack, nearly twice her own size.

She laid on the ground, using the large backpack as a cushion. "Great job, Skout. You've gone and difficulted this whole thing up." She groaned, looking up into the sky.

No matter who it was, (Y/N) was skeptical of everyone who she didn't know. As the redheaded girl stood up, she looked around as the rocks clattered around. She lowered herself down to poke one of the the rocks.

"Aw, now I'm just scaring myself. To think that a rock would..." The rock opened it's eyes, giving Skout a heart attack. Skout scream loudly as the rock she held jumped out of her hands and started to run. The others awoke as well and started to run away.

The small girl soon backed away into a large boulder, which was also asleep. It was rudely awoken by her screaming and her shove into the front. The large critter's eyes opened, only to be to widen to the size of a wheel as it saw the small girl, trying it's best to get away from her.

Skout only continued to scream at all of the confusion she saw. As Skout turned away to see where every other one had left to, (Y/N) steadied the barrel towards her head. She breathed in and started to slowly apply pressure on the trigger.
