Ten after eleven. You should be asleep, but you just can't get your head to shut off.
It's always been hard for you to fall asleep in hotels, anywhere that wasn't your house really, but Danny had insisted that you come along on tour.
"Even just for one day," He'd said, giving you a pleading frown. "Just come see what it's like, please [y/n]?"
Much as you wanted to say no, you were plenty comfortable holed up in your house, you couldn't say no to his face. This six foot tall man's puppy dog eyes were really going to convince you to leave your comfort zone.
You almost want to wake him up now; let him know that it's partially- if not mostly- his fault you can't sleep. He looks so comfortable, though, so peaceful, that you can't bring yourself to. Besides, he needs his energy for his show. You can just stay in the hotel all day, if Danny will let you.
A sudden jerk from the side of the bed where Danny's lying catches your attention and you turn to look at him. His previously relaxed face is contorted now, mouth slightly agape. He looks afraid.
"No," Danny mumbles, almost too quietly to hear. "Please, stop. Don't."
"Danny?" You gently put a hand on his shoulder, but he flinches away.
"Stop!" He cries, alarmingly loud.
"Danny!" You shove his shoulder, just hard enough to wake him. He sits up in bed quickly enough to make you jump, then turns to look at you. "Danny, are you okay?"
"[Y/N]?" Danny's voice is small, much meeker than normal. He reaches out, brushing your face with his thumb like he isn't sure you're real.
"Danny, what's up?" You set your hands on Danny's shoulders and look into his eyes, hoping there will be some kind of hint about what's wrong in them. He looks away from you, saying nothing. "Danny."
"It was just a nightmare, [Y/N], it's no big deal."
"You seemed really scared, love. You were screaming in your sleep."
Danny avoids eye contact again for a minute, then mumbles, "I lost everything, everyone. I lost you. I was all alone in the world."
"It was just a dream, Danny. I'm right here." You snuggle up to Danny, letting him cling tightly to you. "Everything's okay, I promise."
"Can we cuddle for the rest of tonight?" You can't say no to the pleading voice and clinging fingers.
"Of course, Danny. I'm not going anywhere."
